Chef Jeremy, Sabatier scissors and the chicken

If a demo requires cutting up a raw chicken I want to see some real hand washing vs a rise in that wanna be sink they have on the set- eeew gross

Hopefully you see that in your own kitchen, where it counts.

 

This is a TV production to present the product, not necessarily following 'food safety' etiquette.

Have seen this many times before--I certainly hope he washes his hands off stage!!! and that ALL those surfaces are sanitized too!! Just gross!!!

It's not as if he's in a professional kitchen ready to prepare meals for diners.  QVC is not a restaurant.

Along those lines, what bothers me is the trend on most of the cooking shows and demonstrations that feature salt and pepper bowls (instead of shakers or grinders)...

 

The Chefs will handle raw meat, and then grab a few pinches of salt to season it.

 

Doesn't that result in cross-contaminating the entire container? Woman Surprised

No raw chicken enters this house, period.  I find there is nothing I can't do with a nice plump rotisserie chicken.
