Re: Chapter 11 Update: Votes Are In!

[ Edited ]

Each side presented its case to the Bankruptcy Court yesterday.  (Presentations available online if interested.)

The Preferred Shareholders definitely seem to have some legitimate concerns and arguments.

Hopefully there can be a compromise and some form of acceptable settlement, rather than forcing QVC/HSN to shutter operations completely.

@RescueLover I absolutely can not watch Mally more than a nano second.  If the new board pays attention to what is going, and maybe listens to some of their long time customers, Mally should certainly be worried.  Or, maybe, Mally's type is the new way going forward, which would be a  huge mistake.

What will posters complain about with no television broadcasting?

Many don't "do" Instagram or stream QVC+ or go near the Tik-Tok Shop.

Old QVC is dead. ....long live the New, deeply deleveraged QVC!

@They CallMe MRWILKES I am on facebook, but nothing else.  And  I won't bother to stream.  If I need something, I will look online.  But that will greatly reduce my purchases because I don't really NEED anything.

@ellaphant Why would any vendor continue to sell on QVC if QVC was not paying their invoices?

Maybe they should move operations out of Pennsylvania.  They could move to a state more business friendly and less expensive for big corporations.  And the hosts that don't want to move, well, adios!

HSN Interactive acquired The Cornerstone Brands for about $750 million.

I bet it's worth much more than that right now.

An outright sale or equity spinoff makes great sense, in my opinion.

No one knows with certitude what will happen with QVC/HSN.

I absolutely agree. Cornerstone stores are all several steps above whatever Qurate ends up being or, frankly, ever was. It seems that over the years, many of the numerous 'brands' QVC acquired failed under their tutelage, just ask Zulily. Personally, I don't think QVC will last long in anything even close to its current M.O. and I'd hate to see Cornerstone take the hit alongside the floundering mother ship.

@Puppy Lips I was wondering the samething.  If they aren't getting paid, why are they still there?

On May 16th the Bankruptcy Court issued a final order granting QVC Group’s motion to pay all vendor claims current and pre-petition, since it is considered crucial to normal continuing business operations.
