@webbgarner1

I agree with you. It seems to me that those who complain the most about certain hosts and shows that they don't care for are probably watching way too much QVC.

The Q has never taught me how to cook or even given me ideas.  They sell processed foods and tools to cook with.

Since I have been married for half a century and then some, I don't need any more tools and I don't want to eat processed or precooked food, there is no reason to watch unless I want to be entertained.

Sometimes, the background noise is fine....Burglers might think we're home watching TV.

I like Carla, but I am not gonna go out of my way to watch her.  I don't plan on buying any kitchen stuff.

I'm surprised anyone would think she's trying out for a full time host job. What a step down that would be for her.

I used to watch The Chew when it was on and I did like her on that show but that was is smaller doses. I don't know if I could stand a whole show no matter what the product.

I’ll admit, I am also not very familiar with Carla Hall. I never watched The Chew, and I only vaguely remember her from The Food Network back when I used to enjoy their shows.

I watched her first show not really knowing what to expect, and I was not overly impressed. Unfortunately, I didn’t think this most recent show was much better. Just in my opinion, I don’t think she’s quite as good at throwing out a sales pitch as some of the regular hosts or vendors. I also thought it was a bit of a mess, what with her running back and forth between making biscuits and selling bags, fans, popcorn, bras, etc. I’m not sure who at QVC thought that would be a good idea, but I found it to have a rather hectic feel.

Again, those are just my own personal thoughts on the show. I’m sure there are plenty of Carla Hall fans who enjoyed seeing her.

I never cared for Carla as a chef, or host on The Chew, but I give her credit on QVC. She pays attention to the product and goes into the details and features of the items on air. That's what I want from an on air presentation.

My only complaint, and not limited to Carla, would be the Saturday night over use of the phrase Y'all. Seems so forced, so phony, to me. You could seriously make a drinking game out of the number of times it's uttered in a three hour window, and this is from someone who lived in the south for years.
