Can you explain this ad that popped up on my FB feed?

[ Edited ]

It's for Joy Mangano (edited: Lori Greiner) luggage and it includes a video featuring a much younger Carolyn G as host.  I didn't click the link because I don't want to get on any more lists, but I'm wondering what kind of scam it might be. I went back to look at the name of the advertiser but my page had refreshed and I lost it.

Any ideas?

@house_cat  It appears to me Carolyn Gracie and Lorir Grenier. Seems like an older photo. Lori did sell various items on q for several years.

Thank you. I always mix up those two women.  I edited my post to read "Lori Greiner".

It's a company selling products and trying to appear QVC related.  They're using old photos or screenshots that are out on the internet to grab people's attention.   Hard pass.

It's a fake thing that pops up on Facebook.  Don't fall for it.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Yes, I recognize it as a scam. I wish I caught the name of the company - I'd call it to Carolyn's attention via her FB page. I guess it happens regulary and the hosts are aware of it.

I've noticed that the company name the scammers use usually sounds like the company they're pretending to be.

Definitely scammers.  I see these daily, fake Clark's shoes which you can tell by looking at their cheap materials and workmanship, Dooney and Bourke bags for crazy cheap prices and past QVC hosts showing.  These ads are really getting bad on facebook.  Dyson vacuums for $2.99 (right!)  Kitchenaid mixers for $2.99!

Balsam Hill Christmas trees for $29.99-$69.99.

When people say it is scam, comments get closed.  All they want is your credit card number,   if it looks too good to be true, it is too good to be true.

I have reported to FB numerous times they don't care.  Buyer beware.

I always hit report when I see it, it's usually Chinese scammer companies stealing photos to sell knock offs or entirely different products that you may or may not receive You'll probably never who owns the company. They'll pop back up under another name just as fast as Facebook takes them down.
