@grandma petes.  I saw a Chia Pet commercial last night and decided I just must have a Bob Ross Chia Pet (not!).  How dated is that?

I always wonder what my primary reaction would be if I received PoopPouri.  First I think disappointment, then disgust fillowed by embarrassment.  Horrible gift, even as a joke gift.

not sure which you consider dated @Kachina624 .....bob ross OR the chia pet?

i will tell you that BOB ROSS and his show are huge with twentysomethings and early thirtysomethings..,....even though he is no longer on this earth.

Presentations of Poo Pourri are always inappropriate to me. Not a great gift to give or receive or stuff in a stocking.

Sorry you find those inappropriate. I have both the Emjou pedi tool and Poo-Pourri and they're both fantastic. They do what they say they will do and do it well.

You may not always know what to get someone. but you do know that everyone poops, even the ones who pretend it doesn't smell when they do. Smiley Happy

@Alison Wonderland   You have a good point there.

@Shanus @depglass  Oh snap....I kind of wanted one of those flashlights for my backpack.  Seriously....I go to the bus stop at 6am and it's dark out there.  Reading your posts made me think I could still be sipping my Earl Grey (hey, gotta have some sort of civilization at that hour) and see where I'm going with a flashlight dangling from my pack.  And please no "wear a miner's hat"....my beloved BIL already thought of that notion.  Smiles.

@Misplaced Parisian   If you are serious about walking to the bus stop in the dark, PLEASE get yourself a pepper spray and a alarm.  They are cheap and I believe that I would not be here today if I did not carry them.  I also carry a Taser but you need to check to see if they are legal in your state.   I bought my pepper spray from HSN  last year.  They came in a pack of 3 but you can but them anywhere.    Please protect yourself.

@BalletBabe  I do indeed walk to the bus stop in the dark.  Been doing it for over 10 years.  You are so kind....a friend bought me an alarm last year that was popular on Facebook.  I have that on my backpack.  Thank you very much for your kindness and concern.  I appreciate it.  Love your nic, by the way.  I adore the ballet.

@Misplaced Parisian   That is good to hear but I would still get a pepper spray.  HSN sells them 3 in a pack.  Thanks about my name.   It is funny that so many know me by Ballet Babe that they dont know my real name.   Dance has been my life and actually still is a big part of my life.   Please be safe walking to the bus stop.

Re: CHRISTMAS GADGETS OF YEARS PAST

@Misplaced Parisian  you can find POP dolls at stores that sell a lot of pop culture popular items, gaming stores, online at places like walmart, and at local toy and nostalgia festivals.

there are several versions of BOB ROSS pop figures available.

my daughter purchased about four of these this past year. she gives them as gifts to some of her friends. she got hers at a local comic book store and at a nostalgia festival.

@sunshine45  THANK YOU very much.  I greatly appreciate you taking the time to give me the information.  I was Googling when I saw your notification pop up.  Squeals of glee.  I'll be ordering one for my writing desk.  I sometimes draw, paint the story to help me capture it.  Thanks again.
