You outdid yourself this time! The "special look" photo and the one with the woman smoking a cigar are just too funny. Where do you find these pictures? Or are they people you know? LOL. I think Jasper's look says it all.
BTW, I already have a Dell computer (not from QVC) and like it just fine. I don't think I need anymore. Our TV is going bad, so it's about time to buy another one. If QVC sold TV's I would be all set. On the other hand, better not give them any more ideas.
Hey Tegan----
so how did your team do in the draft? I give mine a D...
(which I shall go into detail on the sports board)....
I think that "special look" has to be a Raider's fan....
the one with a cigar....who knows....BUT definitely NOT people I actually know----although I do question my sister's taste in certain things....

QVC has been known to sell TV's and by all means.....RUN, don't walk to your LOCAL stores to purchase one...and by all means stay away from TV's on the Q..![]()

Thankfully ITKWD&M is only on for 3 hours Sunday. I'll be missing most of it because DH is taking me out for an early dinner for Mother's Day.
Stevie, I guess you missed the Queen of Hearts w/ that man o' yours this afternoon. Surely I jest? Nope, the Jester was hawking $1500 bracelets like they were REAL jewels set in REAL silver. The Ripkanistas went Gaga (and I'm not talking about The Lady singer) and bought out most of the inventory since there's 'no reorder, when they sell out, they're gone forever'. Uh-huh, I've heard that line before (it's every Q Hosts' mantra). I predict the inventory will be replenished when some of the buyers come to their senses about the (lack of) quality and the price they paid. The emeralds looked like plastic and the diamonique looked like even cheaper plastic. The same can be said about all the diamonique earrings and necklaces, and the Jester kept pushing the Rose Gold (which it isn't). The Queen's final visit (thankfully) is at 8 p.m. tonite, then she's back to her Kingdom in Manhattan. I wonder who her Jester will be during that show? If it's SchoolMarm, I'm changing the channel, otherwise I'll watch "the preview" of The Grande Dame's finale.
Hi Maryebrown...
I think you nailed it.....I thought you did an excellent job assessing the situation....be careful not to post the truth about the products on the Ripkanista's forum....although not as fanatical as the Wen Group .....some can be downright nasty defending their "queen".
Although Stevie told me that some are actually "seeing the light" and calling out the jewelry junk for what it is...way too pricey , and quality has declined as well...
Yep nothing, special to merit all the attention the Q gives to some Overpriced COSTUME jewelry. I think I saw nicer stuff at Kohl's and Dillards....and may I add they were all under the $50 price range.....of course your paying through the nose for HER MAJESTY'S name.....afterall she has a store on Madison Ave ya know....
I didn't get to see the show ..... chose to watch my Spurs with some friends... but heard or read "the marm" got the "choice seat"....(so I think I made the better choice)..wonder if she mentioned her beach house or the high priced stuff she owns...
I wonder how the quality and prices are going to be now that she sold her line to Xcel Brands....although Judith maintains an interest in the company....

On 5/10/2014 stevieb said:Now Spurt, her majesty has been elevated. You know how so often those royals have multiple titles? Well, in keeping with what has become her 'go to' uh gemstone..., our very own Queen of Hearts has now also been created the Duchess of Diamonique. Oh gosh, golly wow, isn't it exciting... oh so thrilling... And she sat in court last night with her court jester, (who incidentally, for the very short time I watched, was even more nauseating than ever, as if that's even possible...) and, if our luck holds, he'll be presenting with Her Grace again this evening... This, along with all the other fascinating Q viewing options you've noted, is why I am now about to head out to the grocery store, run some errands and do some local shopping... Maybe I'll even return before Dell Days bite the dust... Maybe...
Hey Stevie......
WOW!!!! How could I have missed that "important" the most important event of this Calendar Year.....oh your right, I just spend too much time on sports.......so THE QUEEN OF HEARTS has a second title.....THE DUCHESS OF DIMONIQUE!!!!! Was there a red carpet "event" to host the bestowing of the title?.....was there a luncheon of qwap cakes and lobster tails hosted by Sharon? I guess the dual titles are QUEEN and HER BARONETS ......
Looks like moms is trying to scare you away from her jewelry shows choosing "your man" and I heard last night "the marm" as hosts.....
Since the Spurs had a very late tip off 9:30 PM CDT
plenty of time to do some local shopping.....went with sis to a nice strip center---not too big, not too small...you could walk it and dont need to drive from store to store---Kohls, TJ's, Bath and Body Works, Barnes and Noble, Hallmark, Joann Fabrics and Crafts, Petsmart, Anna's Linens......nice stuff, a VARIETY, reasonable prices.....
Looks like you shopped till you dropped too...
Although the grocery store was probably a monumental task...why do people have to stand in the middle of the aisles and talk on their phones!!!!....TAKE YOUR ADULT PACIFIER AND GO HOME!
....it takes TWICE as long to get the shopping done!
I know you will appreciate the irony of this---it appears that a certain someone and "the brother" attended a baseball game.....

I sent the photo to my sis and her comment---"Eli's so cute"....
BTW it looks like he's putting on some weight...it will make it easier for my team's defense to sack 'em

Oh for heaven's sake, Spurt. I'd just settled down with a couple of slices of raisin toast with honey pecan cream cheese, some orange mango juice and cup of coffee and then I opened this thread... Why didn't you just complete the barf-bag scenario and include a picture of that man o' mine with the bros...? Honestly, I had to close out in order to enjoy my little breakfast, prepared, by the way, without benefit of the happy dance... Incidentally, it is now official, and at the same time we'll be taking up a collection for DS's guide dog, we'll also be arranging her participation in an experimental clinical trial at the nearby National Institute of Mental Health... I mean really, at this point, what has she got to lose...?
Yes, Her Grace, the Duchess of Diamonique, presented last evening with BOTH of my faves, the Court Jester and her Lady in Waiting, Jillsy La Marm... Needless to say, I skipped the festivities, which were, as predicted, laden with high priced fake diamonds and not much else... I've even gone so far as to change my settings, so as to delete future 'reminders' of her appearances on the OMQ... Who needs a reminder, after all, she's pretty much become a fixture, unlike the old days when her appearances were rare and when she actually brought pretty pieces that were affordable and didn't all feature a preponderance of 'the worlds finest simulated diamond' (aka CZ)... As for her ermine robed investiture, I believe the carpet will be purple, not red, and as far as I know, it's still in the planning stages... Will keep you posted but do know that both Bacon Boy and the ever prim (except when she's stuffing her face...) Sharon will be heavily involved with the menu...
No, I didn't shop much yesterday. Picked up a Mother's Day present (necklace) that I had on layaway at my local gift/jewelry shop... Took a watch to another nearby jeweler (the gift/jewelry shop sends them out and it takes too long to get them back) but after waiting half an hour (which was what they said it would take) for a simple battery replacement without the work being started, much less done, asked for it back and walked out of that fine establishment (not likely to return)... Stopped in a small bookstore, where I bought a couple of paperbacks and then had to fend off both clerks about magazine subscriptions (I mean really, after I nicely said the first time they asked me that I wasn't interested, why did they have to keep pestering me until I nearly had to get sort of nasty...?)... Stopped in Marshall's, but the store looked like a cyclone had hit and between that and the too many little darlings running up and down the aisles wailing, I left a rather cute pair of shoes in my cart and walked out... Happened into the Maxx, but left relatively quickly, having bought nothing and rounded out my day at the grocery where it seemed a whole other conglomeration of little precious were whining, playing and learning to walk in the crowded aisles... Having no choice, I persevered, waited forever in one of the three open checkout lines (on a Saturday afternoon...) had to fend off THIS check-out clerk's invocations for me to contribute to whatever cause the grocery folks are collecting for THIS week, got my groceries (forgetting the usual couple of things) and went home... All told, just a few hours out and about and with nothing really fun to show for it! Oh and yes, I filled my tank with over-priced gasoline... All things considered, not a terrible day, but not a great one, complete with cloudy skies, some early rain and humidity... So far, today is featuring bright sun and a cool breeze, which is a bit more uplifting.

Oh my dear Stevie....I do so sincerely apologize for not putting up a warning when I post a picture of you know who......and that sounded like such a nice breakfast too......
Well after much speculation, at least my team of indigenous people did manage to hang on to REAL HUNK Kirk Cousins.......
....now that's a CUTIE PIE-
-
movie star looks don't ya think....
Since our own mom passed away......we sorta forgot it was Mother's Day shopping weekend.....I just can't believe people just turn these kids loose in these stores like they were at a playground!!!!.SHEESH!...We stopped at Starbucks for a cool drink and there was a kid about 2....picking up and dropping all these ceramic cups that were on a shelf (luckily none of them broke) and the mother was totally OBLIVIOUS to the situation----
Will you answer me a question---department stores used to put the watch batteries in for you, now they refuse to do it, and you have to go to a jewelry store to have it done....WHY???
And of course you won't be given priority for a watch battery....they are going to wait on the people shopping for jewelry......
And as for hounding you about magazine subscriptions/grocery store causes ---- my friend's daughter who works at Trade Secrets and works on a commission shared a secret----even though you might say NO, they are required to badger you a couple of times hoping you will cave in and they can make a sale.....so your first NO means NOTHING! I think the stores here have given up, they have the causes displayed with a dollar amount coupon you tear off if you want to add a donation to your grocery bill for whatever non-profit. Afterall, the checker is too busy talking to their co-worker, the bagger, about their personal lives to give a spiel anyway...its a miracle if they remember to bag all of your groceries...
Sorry you did not find any goodies at Marshalls or the Maxx.....but I'm sure you will next time...
Some days are like that.....Ill go shopping with friends and all I wind up with is a magazine (maybe they should approach me about a subscription)....
And after a promise of rain and numerous programming alerts about monster storms with hail....all we got was a breeze and MORE HUMIDITY.....THE NEXT DAY a light rain fell for about 5 minutes Saturday so much for severe rainstorms........and yet another "bullseye" prediction by our weather forecasters!
Now we sit with heat and humidity with the promise of more rain Monday and Tuesday and temperatures dropping from low 90's back into 70's and low 80's....oh I cant wait! (being sarcastic)....

Thank you, SPURT! I appreciate your compliment on my take of The Queen Bee. I've only seen her once, in passing, before this weekend's shows, so I had no preconceived ideas what her jewelry entailed. She struck me as the Cat that swallowed The Canary who thinks that nobody notices "what's missing". One check of the empty birdcage shows the intention of Sneaky Cat, in this instance fooling the onlookers (buyers). This morning I read many threads posted by her 'subjects' who are disillusioned with her duplicity (and her laughing all the way to the bank).
I did watch a bit last night early on, when SchoolMarm was practically kissing her ring and being praised by Her Majesty as her favorite and most learned host (gag me). Later, I watched the Green Goddess presentations, and thought "who would pay those prices for paste"? Uggh!
I DO love your weekly Threads, the pics are too funny - LOVE Jasper, he looks so much like/reminds me of our Mr. Kitty who was attacked and killed by a male cat 2 years ago. Miss Kitty has been missing him, too. We are adopted by many homeless cats here, in the country, but they won't come inside the house. Miss Kitty has been here almost 5 years but she's ferel - we can feed her and she'll brush against us but she won't let us "touch" her. Mr. Kitty came along about 6 months after her and was very friendly, let us pet him, even jumped up in our laps! We miss him, terribly.

Yes, Her Grace, the Duchess of D was joined by none other than our very own Jillsy la Marm for the evening show... Hence, this makes it a clean sweep for me. I didn't watch any of Her Majesty's shows this trip... More to the point, I don't feel like I missed a thing... Never been big on over the moon priced fake diamonds... I saw on line where Her Grace and la Marm were hawking a silver and lapis ring for close to three bills... Shaking my head in wonderment. Her fan club might well have been buying out all her fake diamond inventory but looking on line it seems there are quite a few items that didn't even come close to selling out... Hmmmmm.... could it be that Her Majesty and the Q have finally pushed that overpriced envelope just a little too far....?
Hope all are positively enthralled by the return of Dull Days... Or was that Dell Days...? Or is there any difference...?
Stevie, I saw that ring w/ the lapis lazuli in it. It was butt-ugly! I own a pair of "costume jewelry" sterling earrings w/ teardrop lapis stones in them, at a fraction of the cost, and I get compliments on them.
I also saw the 7 stone (stackable) sapphire ring, and when Marm turned it on her finger one of the stones (and I use that term loosely) was BLACK! The stones on all of them (ruby, emerald, sapphire) looked like plastic to me. I don't have a TV w/ HD yet I'm not blind - I guess Her Majesty's subjects are simply "blinded by the light".
Ahhh, yes, the Dull Days - we've got 20 more to go before the Daily Madness ends!
