I have to admit that I loved their advertisements in the Sunday papers...but then they went away.

I'd like to go back to 1999, if possible! 🤗

Why aren't my posts accompanying the posts I was responding to? I guess it must be the "superlative" IT department. I hope that my posts do make some sense, at least!

@Reever wrote:I am boycotting QVC for the time being. Just too sad to turn it on without thinking of Dan and Carolyn. Others on Facebook have mentioned doing the same, some even cancelling their Q Cards. I would often have QVC on for 16 or 17 hours a day but have not found any interest in turning it on since the announcement. I feel this project Athens idea will fail. The only thing that seemed good was the implementation of a loyalty/rewards program.
Me too! Totally sad! I can relate. The last few days and for sure into the future my enthusiasm for watching and shopping is zero. This is saying alot because 2 of my favorite brands are on this weekend. It is difficult to be enthusiastic when I have less and less to relate to with these other hosts. I have been a customer for 20 years. I am in my 40s. Carolyn was such a reason I watched & shopped. She was so down to earth and inspring. Most of the hosts have also been doing the streaming chats where there was even more interaction.
So many people on here have been so harsh and unkind stating that they are "not your friends". Of course, they are not our friends. That said, it is okay to have welcomed these people into your homes. Some hosts more than others seem to enjoy interacting with the customer. Carolyn was one of them and she insprired me with her pet mamma lifestyle and gardening shows. She had great presentation. I bought alot when she was on.
Our world is so quick to dispose and move on, but connection and some attachment is okay. The original design of home shopping has been based on connecting with the audience and it is different than any other experience. This is why I have chosen QVC over the years. I have been having trouble understanding how that is the shopping model and yet these 2 depart in such an abrupt manner. Obviously, the nature for their departure set the tone for the FB message and ....gone.
And I can't understand why she was chosen in comparison to the newer hosts...many who do not seem to connect at all and the viewers are not even that familair with yet.
I still consider ageism.
Change can be difficult.

This sounds like a WW2 combat mission you'd see in a war movie! Reason its going to take 3 years is so the suits can hang on to their jobs by saying "we need 3 years.for our project to work!"
Shopping is no big mystery:
- keep bringing in new, innovative & fresh merchandise
- offer discounts, promotions (30% off friends & family, 25% off mothers day, etc) on a regularr.basis for ALL
- free shipping or buy a certain amount & get free shipping for ALL
- fast & reliable shipping & returns credited in a timely manner
You need a WW2 "project" to figure out shopping? Are the people running Qrate.from a different planet? Havw they never shopped before? Ask any shopper what they want.

All posts go to the end of the thread no matter who you're replying to.
You have to either use the "Quote" feature when you reply (as I've done to you here), or mention the poster's name as I've also done. Use the "Reply" under the post you're replying to, then tap your "@" key and a drop down menu will appear with the poster's name at the beginning of the list. Click on that name and it will mention that poster in your reply and also send that poster a notification that you replied to their post.

Yours is an EXCELLENT post.
Instead of all the hand wringing about people not shopping because two hosts were laid off, the people who decided streaming was the way to go maybe never condsidered this.
And I know older people who STILL say "I don't stream anything ...don't know how and don't want to learn"
I live in a rural area and what you say about internet connection is spot on.
YES I can pay more for more data space, but I'm not going to to stream something like QVC. If they go off the regular teevee airwaves, cable, or satellite, O well.

Whoa! I missed that.
I think that only happened in her mind after she guzzled a massive quantity of wine...lol

Sorry WOBIN, but that came straight from the horse's mouth. Shawn was bragging to the viewers that she consumed the entire bottle of wine, and was still capable of doing her entire prigram. That isn't something for anyone to brag about. She's a legend in her own mind.
