Bob is alive and well! He has been tied up working with Cher the past couple of years, designing costumes for the stage show based on her life, and I don’t know when he would have had time to design clothing for us. AND he is going to be one of several guests of honor on a CRUISE sponsored by TCM (my favorite channel) in November. So much for retirement.

I have a closet full of his beautiful clothing. Have to get some of this COVID weight off so I can wear the beautiful blouses, pants and sweaters. He is a design genius, for sure, and a delightful gentleman. Miss him on air, but it appears he is moving on.

I was surprised that only recently he won a Tony award for best costume design in a play. I thought that he had won more awards.

The Cher Show was Bob's first and only Tony nomination.

He had three Oscar nominations, but no wins.

His greatest success was in television,  with 9 competitive wins out of 32 nominations.

I still LOVE to watch the opening of the Carol Burnett Show just to see what Bob made for Carol.  His clothing is beautiful.

ps - I do know he also designed the clothes used in the show too.

I love all my "vintage" Bob Mackie! Silk blouses and the beautiful silk scarves that matched. Gorgeous.

I saw Bob the last time he was on QVC. He is in his mid 80's now and guess what he was doing?  Designing all the costumes for Pink's upcoming tour!!  He is just amazing to me! So, I think he has pretty much retired from QVC.....his choice.  He has a lot going on and probably wants to enjoys some lovely time off. Bob Mackie and Louis D. were the absolute best and I am so happy that I bought so many things from them. Quality fabrics and beautifully constructed designs!!
