So, we were out of town for about 3 weeks. I happen to take full advantage of the free shipping offered for the 4-hour period, twice, during that time. When returning home I had 42 packages. Yep, I know. A lot. These were mostly from QVC and a couple from HSN.
Because of so many complaints about not receiving invoices I paid very close attention to whether I received one with each delivery. EVERY single package contained a packing slip. That was 42 packages. I just don't understand why so many do not receive them. It seems like I get them every time and I order quite a bit.
For those that complain they don't have a printer, you don't need one. I automatically toss all of my invoices, I never save them. If I have to return something I hand write the address and put a slip of paper inside the package with all the information needed. I have never had an issue.
It's a rhetorical question but why do I receive an invoice every time yet others insist they never receive one. I can't understand this.

@cjm61 Don't know why, but I also receive invoices, etc. far more often than not. Once in a while something coming directly from a vendor arrives here without. Not a problem worth using up tech time, imo.

@cjm61 I agree. That's strange.
I don't buy much from QVC, only a few things a year, but I never get any paperwork.....nothing at all.
HSH always gives me a packing slip and return label.

@cjm61 - That must have been like Christmas time opening all those packages!
You sure saved a lot not having to pay for shipping.
I agree about the mystery of packing labels. Without fail, I always receive them yet others don't. Doesn't make sense to me.

@cjm61. The big offender has been the Ontario, CA. Warehouse, mostly serving customers West of the Mississippi. That's where almost all of my packages come from. You obviously live on the East coast.
I would estimate that about 2/3 of my packages arrive with no paperwork. That's an improvement because at one time it was all of them. I also got a piece of jewelry this week from HSN that had a packing slip but no return shipping label. Since I'll be returning it, I called and they're sending one.

@millieshops. Maybe it's not a problem for you who rarely shops, but it is for me who does.

You had a real shopping spree. I don't think I have 42 orders in a year!
I am on the east coast.I get packing slips with 90% of my packages and most have return labels attached. If they don't I just go online and get a QR code and take my return to UPS which is less than 10 minutes away where they print a label and ship it back.

I almost always get a packing slip regardless of what vendor it's from. What puzzles me is the packing slip lists the item but not the price?? This happens with Blair all the time.

The only time I don't get labels is from a few manufacturers and Gourmet Food. I don't understand it either.
One thing could be a problem is some vendors put the receipt and return label under the address label on the outside of the box. That doesn't apply to clothing, though.

I get some packing slips, but more often than not now they do not have the return portion anymore.
