@santorini   That WAS a priority...not going to happen now.

You know, I find it sad that so many American citizens have no faith, no sense of wrong about this, no sense that nothing can be done.

Nobody said "I'm going to write my representatives" few showed any willingness to buy less, look for other options, or do anything to look to the future and say "This country really needs to get our drug supply back home."

Or we need to be more proactive toward supplying our own fuel needs. . . etc.

We are officially a third world country now if that's the way people think.  Whatever.

@santorini    How many people do you know who are dying to operate a sewing machine in a factory?  We've trained our youth on computers.  You'll never get these techno-kids into a factory.  We no longer have that type of workforce.  The Industrial Revolution is a ship that has sailed.

We all must start to curb items bought in China and manufacturers need to look to alternative countries.  Russia is destroying a country with bombs while China is destroying this country with stolen technology, fentanyl, opioids, propaganda, Covid, cheap goods.  It has to start with something and someone so whenever anyone can pass on buying products from China they are patriots.

Quite right. There are no young people today who would want to do "piecework" like my grandmother did during WWII. IF they want to work with their hands, plumbing, HVAC, electricial work, etc are pay good money.

Americans have this thing where they want a living wage, health insurance, and a safe working environment. Even if you found a workforce, would you find Americans willing to pay the high prices it would take to support these workers?

Interestingly enough, I just looked through other posts on the forums right now and there are at least 5 complaints about how high QVCs prices are.

For every person saying they would be willing and able to pay more for American made products, I'd guess there are 5 who would or could not.

Just addressing the clothing industry alone, manufacturers all over the world have been experimenting with automation for years and are actually now producing.

If you have time there's a Youtube called The Robot Revolution: Automation Comes into Fashion | Moving Upstream.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsSDI8wWAyQ

It is both frightening and fascinating to see what innovations and dire problems will affect millions of people all over the planet in the clothing industry.

Actually we can get MANY of our drugs from Israel!  They are from Teva.  I refuse any drugs from China and India.  Too many problems with them.
