Re: Appropriate Fingernails with Food Presentations Tonight

I agree that the long nails don't compliment food presentations very well. It's a hygiene thing, imo.

What's appropriate is purely subjective. A little more tolerance and fewer demands that people meet OUR expectations would make a much nicer society.

I am interested in the quality, value, and taste of the food not the hosts appearance.

I cannot watch the gourmet food presentarions.  Some hosts , never stop eating.  It is gross watching them squeeze and pat and mash the food that is on the plate.

When thre hosts were not permitted to taste the food, the presentations were watchable.

When presenting food, if they are going to touch it, I think nails should be short.  Decorated anyway they choose, as long as they aren't long (because who knows what kind of crud is under them) I don't mind.

However, I seldom watch a food show so my vote probably doesn't count.

@NikkiLou76  Yikes! Do you think it was a coincidence or was it the cake for sure? We have had the Beatrice fruit cake a few times (regular and sugar free) and no problem.

I find LONG and colorfully decorated nails are a big distration for food and jewelry presentations.

Speaking of nails. Let's add pedi to the list.  All vendors and hosts (including guys) should have a check before they go on.

QVC has enough product to help them look good.

Some polishes should be kept personal, especially the glitters and YELLOWS!

Save those for your own party.
