Re: Anyone else SICK of all the gardening shows?

Nope not tired of the outdoor/garden shows at all but I am tired of the skincare and clothing shows so I change the channel when I see them come on.

I am also tired of the gardening shows. I do not have a green thumb nor the space to plant many flowers. Yes, I know I can change the channel and people can also pass on threads that do not interest them.

Yes to that and beauty stuff, electronics, philosophy, gourmet food, mattresses, etc.

That leaves clothing, shoes and kitchen stuff. Jewelry is out too.

I've never been a gardener so I've never watched the shows.  Mama and Daddy worked in the yard every weekend.  Although I would help Mama with the flowers I never really got into it myself when I grew up.  We always won the neighborhood "yard of the month" award.

Re: Anyone else SICK of all the gardening shows?

My opinion on gardening shows, FWIW:

As I also live in the hot Arizona desert, I totally understand @Meowingkitty 's view of gardening. But I basically love plants and force myself to mind my Lantana, Ruellias, and agaves, tho I have even lost some agaves, through the summer. My Bougainvillias love it here and thrive to the extent of needing constant trimming and clean up with dried red "blossoms" everywhere. These manage provide color through the endless summer and are not sold on QVC.

I have ordered a few plants here, received refunds for a few duds, and killed many of them. I have some kind of bush thing from the Q (Roberta's? Cottage Farms?) that's in a large planter and still looks OK. Mostly I live vicariously and enjoy the gardening shows. Plants are a sign of hope and a connection with the natural world.

For those who don't suffer gardening shows gladly, just have a bit of patience; they'll be over soon enough. And QVC's  "Christmas in July" is just over the horizon.
