Anyone Changing QVC Spending Habits for the New Year?

Hi everyone!

Hope you made it through the holidays unscathed :-)

Any plans for spending changes?

[ Edited ]

Just to keep up what I started last year… Really spending on need items, not random stuff. I'm not in the stores as much either, like HomeGoods or Marshalls or anything else, which inevitably leads to, "oh that's pretty"...temptation for things I don't need. Same with my shopping on QVC. More money is being spent at the grocery store, but while it's unfortunate, and maybe they are even gouging, I don't mind spending money on healthy food. Of course, I still try to shop sensibly in the grocery store too, and look for any deals (they are much fewer than there were 2 years ago.) I feel I must adjust to these times, and really spend on the real "valuable" things to me, and have a return on investment...food, home environment, experiences with loved ones....as opposed to another chotchke or item of clothing I really don't need. I still love fashion...but I really take inventory on what I really need and want before buying just another piece of clothing. Also, rather have better quality and less there too...and things that build on my existing wardrobe.

I'm also continuing with some home updates and will need a new car in the not too distant future, and everything is up up up, so I am saving my money for that.

Re: Anyone Changing QVC Spending Habits for the New Year?

I really slowed my spending in the fall and will continue that.  Of the few new things I did buy, I returned most of them.  I did not buy one Christmas gift from QVC in 2021.  I am still on auto delivery for some things and will keep that going.  But I don't see me ordering anything new from QVC for some time.  I have more than enough of what I need and some of the hosts these days are a real turn off to me, so I am not watching as much.

Re: Anyone Changing QVC Spending Habits for the New Year?

I changed my spending habits a few years ago.  Some months i spend no money on anything except food and essentials...like gas..  No clothing, take out food, or other spendy things.

I was surprised how much money I saved.  My savings account is extremely healthy now.  It was difficult at first.  It is much easier now and I am thrilled.

I can't believe how foolish I was for most if my life throwing money away for instant gratification.

I don't plan on making any changes.  I never did have a

QVC "spending habit".  I treated myself occasionally to something new, but it was never a habit, so to speak.

as long as they keep providing what i need or want, my shopping at qvc will remain the same in 2022. i actually have already purchased five items so far in the new year......plus i got some QVC gift cards for christmas.

@Carmie  I hear you and I am going to try to follow your lead.  I too am guilty of buying items for myself especially clothing and never even wearing it Smiley Sad    Sadly, I hate to admit I have given multiple clothing items to Good Will with the tags still on over the years.  I have been really trying in the past year or two to tone it down.  I'm much better now but not nearly good enough!   Though I have been watching a lot less and that helps for sure!

Out of sight, out of mind!!  LOL...........Therefore my NY's resolution is to move away from  online shopping in general.

I paid a lot of bills off last year, I have 2 more to go and I'm doing great so Yes, I will continue spending smart.

I do reward myself here and there but it has to be a really good want or need.

As most of us are people of age we realize that QVC is overpriced on most of their products that is why they are going after the young money who haven't got a clue as to what things cost or don't care.
