Anybody Ever See This Banner

I put something in my cart tonight (Monday) and received this notice. I found it interesting they are anticipating a sellout date and informing us. Not sure how accurate it can be but it is different than what I've seen in the past.

@cjm61.  Yes, I saw it today when checking something I'd already bought and wasn't interest in purchasing.  It's just another ploy to urge buyers to pull the trigger.

Re: Anybody Ever See This Banner

Yes many times. Especially when it’s a clearance sale item. It’s accurate too. I had a Jennifer Miller Gemstone Heart Necklace that had dropped in price from $79 to $46 in my cart and didn’t check out right away. When I went back in less than a 1/2 hr it was out of my cart, which I thought was strange? So I did a search for it and it was SOLD OUT! I really wanted that necklace too and couldn’t believe I lost out. It has not returned to stock either and that was months ago! Sooooo moral of the story is that those banners are definitely REAL!!! 😔

It's a way to tell you something is low stock.....and a marketing ploy to get you riled up to quickly order. It's no different than the stale lines hosts give about a produict.

I just remembered i called CS about an item that the banner read low inventory. The rep told me there was 24 left in my size! I grabbed it fast because it was a Peace Love World Black Faux Leather Blazer for only $17! Love it!!

I don't think I made it clear, it was late and I was going to bed. Smiley Happy

The banner stating the item is at a sellout risk has been around for quite awhile. What I haven't seen is the part with the anticipated date of sellout, Sunday, which is several days away.

@RescueLover I agree, I have found when it states stock is low and/or sellout risk is high, with a specific number left in stock, this becomes a popup. HSN usually gives the number left in stock and QVC usually gives the amounts sold, they both seem accurate.

@Kachina624 I do believe it is a sales tactic. However, in my experience, these numbers are accurate. But, it rarely, if ever, has persuaded me to hurry up and buy. QVC does like to put the pressure on for us to buy now.

Re: Anybody Ever See This Banner

I didn’t see the Sunday part, but I think that’s a good thing. It might give someone the chance to wait a couple days until they can afford the item, but it’s all a gamble. Amazon has been posting the amount of items left in stock for years. I hope they’re as honest as QVC. The one thing I noticed about Amazon is if you want to order an item again and click on the item in your history it’s sometimes higher than what you paid (which ok) but if you do another search for that same item you may find it for less! You have to be on your game that’s for sure!
