I think Amal from Anybody is a great vendor. She is calm, articulate, warm and informed. My question is why do all the hosts pronounce her name as “ml” rather than “ah mahl” She has the same name as Amal Clooney and nobody seems to pronounce her name incorrectly.

I realize it’s not the end of the world but I think it’s a courtesy to try to get it right. It’s pronounced just as it is spelled.

I remember Shawn saying some time ago,  with Amal present,   that her name is pronounced "Amel"  not  "Amal".

Thank you for the information. I know a woman here locally who pronounces it like Amal Clooney but if the vendor pronounces it differently than that should be respected. I stand corrected.

I wonder what Amy would call her? Am?

@nevergivesup   I agree.  Her name is Amal not Amel.  Why can't they get it right?

First of all let me say that I agree. Amel is straight forward and gracious.  Good vendor. Glad this post went up.  Never knew what her name really was because I for some reason could not catch it when said by the hosts.  I actually thought they were calling her ML. Lol. Glad you straightened this out for me

I'm glad this pronunciation thing was cleared up.  I too always thought the hosts were pronouncing it incorrectly.  To me, Amal is pronounced Ah-MAHL; guess I was wrong.

@RealtyGal2

You are right, that would not be nice for Amy to do but that is what Amy does, abbreviates everyone's name.
