Yes, she's her niece. I think they look a lot alike too.

to be clear I was speculating about David and Joan R, maybe he wanted to retire, 

but yes it is odd, or younger works for less,

A few months ago, I remember one of the hosts with Bitsy say that David will no longer be presenting fashion but I still think he has a role with the company

@jackthebear   David remains with the Joan Rivers brand, he never left.  He only decided not to do the on air presentations any longer and leave that up to Bitsy.

David is still the one designing all the fashion.  Bitsy makes a point to mention how David has designed the items she's been presenting.

In fact, David still does livestreams for the brand -- he did one yesterday at 5:00pm.  The video is still up on QVC's Livestream link.
