AARP is not one of my favorite organizations just as the Muppets are not one of my preferred forms of entertainment. While QVC can certainly do whatever they want to do I have to admit to being really somewhat mystified as to why they're making some of the choices they make... I think we all get that money drives the train, but there are all sorts of ways for a shopping channel to make money.

Seems like QVC wouldn't make much of a profit on AARP. Anyone can order easily on their own without going through QVC.

I really don't get where they're going with this one...

I couldn't believe it when I tuned in, really Q, ? How low can you go. And of course ther is Jane Tracy pushing it like its the best thing since white bread. Disgusting, hope it falls flat as a pancake. Yes it is political and I will not join. There are other places that are better than them but I won't say them cause then I would be doing what the Q is doing,I can't believe they would do this .Tucka.

Next thing you know, somebody will be wanting the US to go to the metric system, like 99% of the rest of the world

and what about the AARP providing free tax preparation and filing .....they should hang their head in shame!!!!

I was shocked to see them promoting this, we certainly know what political side they are on, and I am not happy about it!!!

Me too! I am surprised Qz would enter the political realm, or even more so reveal their political stripes. Now I know where (on the left) they reside.

Not that I think they are expressing any political policy by promoting AARP, but if they were, {#emotions_dlg.thumbup} ! I have my medicare supplement through AARP and got it WAY cheaper than the company I was with at the time-they were raising my premium 40% in one year! This one is still cheaper than that one, and with Medicare and this supplement, I can go to any hospital, any doctor, any specialist, and what Medicare doesn't pay, the supplement does. My medical care premiums are more than 50% cheaper than they were before I went on Medicare, and my out of pocket costs are ZILCH and that includes a trip to the emergency room, cardiac cath, and 24 hours in hospital.... So I'll promote AARP and Medicare any day of the year. And I might add, there are elements in this country that would like to get rid of Medicare too, and they're sure not leaning left!

Why is it when QVC sells items that some people do not like (for whatever reason), people go into fits and convulsions?

There are lots of things QVC sells that I do not like -- either because of the qualities of the item or even the actions of the manufacturer -- so I do not buy them. I do not find the need to complain or assume that QVC's selling of an item is a tacit endorsement of the vendor's policies or politics.

QVC is in business to make money, and they attempt to sell items that will make them a profit. They cannot please everyone, but some posters apparently refuse to accept this reality.

Exactly. The irony here is that if, say, a group who some believed has some tenuous ties, warranted or not, to a conservative agenda, what do you think these posters would be saying to anyone who complained similarly. I'll tell you what they'd say: "Mountain out of a molehill," "get a life," "bunch of PC kwap," etc., ad nauseam. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

And I'm just amazed at the naivete of those who think they now know what political side QVC is on -- all because they had AARP on. As if QVC gives a flying fig about anything other than -- wait for it, wait for it -- PROFIT.
