Why does a XXS shirt have a 40" chest? Again, too big. Another sale lost.

Did you look at the picture of the item? If so you'll see it is a very full, pleated/gathered type of top. You will also see that every bust size is larger for that same reason, in other words it appears to have a very good reason to have those measurements.

Some item styles are oversized and described as such. Those styles will have larger measurements. I happen to like some tops like that.

No. there is no reason an xxx should be 40". Ive seen other tops also 40" in xxs. I'm petite and weigh 105. That chest size is huge.

Not every piece of clothing is for every body shape

The fabric is woven with very little stretch which means you need the extra room for easy of wearing and comfort. Otherwise it might feel restricting.

I like.all cotton. Most stretch fabric is hot. 40" is ridiculous for something called xxs.

It's actually pretty common for that style. Check Free People and Anthropologie, a lot of their smallest sizes are oversized and flowy.

I once bought a terry robe from ShopNBC (or whatever they were calling the place at the time)...and I had the same thing happen..."small" was actually 46 inches wide at the bust.
I cut the thing up...and used it as car-washing rags.......

I always look at mesurements and if they seem off to me I pass. Sometimes I will take a chance. I read the reviews and not many talk about the size being too big on them. Some like the garment and some don't. Good price but an easy pass for me.
