Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price

Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price ("MSRP") is a price that is based upon the supplier's representation of value. No sales may have been made at this price.

Retail Value

The Retail Value represents either an actual comparison-shopped price, or the price at which QVC believes that the same or a comparable product would be offered by department stores or other retailers using a customary markup for that product category. The Retail Value does not necessarily represent the prevailing retail price in every community, and does not represent a price at which QVC will sell a product.

This is from QVC itself. So, to cry that they are being "deceptive" and "sneaky" is completely 100% wrong.

Including those definitions on their website, and having them read over TV periodically is because of that lawsuit brought against QVC and to prevent other occurrences. And changes in Illinois laws.....

But what the OP and some of the rest of us are saying is why aren't they showing the ORIGINAL QVC PRICE on the so called CLEARANCE ITEMS we are asking for a full disclosure on the screen....

I really believe that the reason they don't put the old price
on sale items is because it's embarrassing to show that it's only
sometimes a dollar or two cheaper!!!

QVC has no conception of a ""clearance price""

Sadly it's truly BUYER BEWARE and the consumer has to do their homework since so many retailers are so ""creative"" these days and there are so many gimmicks out there.

I actually like QVC and mostly everything I own in terms of jewelry, clothes, shoes and beauty products come from QVC. I want to continue to like them and purchase from them, but they have made that more difficult since 2009. Either they have priced me out (Ripka) or made me leery of making purchases due to declining quality and sizing discrepancies. They should be happy for complaints, because that means we have not given up on them yet. If the QVC did What board becomes empty, then they should worry. To get back on topic, liking them doesn't mean they are above criticism and this new approach is deceptive.

I have been with them from almost the beginning and they have gone downhill in everything. DOOBDOO said it all. THEIR CS USE TO BE TOP NOTCH. You might get a few good ones that care, but the new ones sound bored and the have no power to do anything. Not like Amazon. Amazon answered my e mail within the hour and and credit my card within the hour, ever see the Q do that. Still waiting for return item in warehouse to say return and then another week to put on my card. Yes they use to show Q price and then reduced price. I could go on and on, but most of the posters have said it. I will only buy here if the price is better and I Actually need it. Like a Perricone special maybe. Didn,t even buy on the Joan Rivers yesterday. Don,t really need anything and it feels free and good.

I rarely watch the live presentations, not, because I have any particular problem with them. It's more of a time issue. The novelty of home shopping wore off, long ago, and for the most, if I'm going to shop, it's easier to do so, on line. On line, the QVC price, always seems to be listed with the clearance price. Sometimes the retail value, too, but, I don't see that as much They're not showing that on aIr? That's odd, wonder why? Anyone that's curios, could simply pull it up on line, and quickly see it. Pretty much everyone I know, has some type of on line access, so, not like they're hiding anything, when the info is easily available. Why not show it on air?

I guess that's kind of the point. If the information is available and since they used to provide it for those watching live, then why not continue the practice? To effectively say that customers now have to go on-line to see the regular price in order to compare it to the sale price is both ridiculous and smacks of subterfuge... After all, when shopping out in stores, you don't go on line or have to ask the clerk in order to see what the non-sale price was... Moreover, while I don't much watch anymore, mainly because to me the programming has become undesirable, when considering purchasing something, I do like to see it presented. That's sort of the premise with 'home shopping'. I too tend to shop more online, but the capacity to see an item worn, displayed or modeled are the few remaining advantages to having items shown on the air.

Makes no sense, not to have it on air. Personally, I'd rather see a good price, all the time, than a bunch of pricing games. Now we have a sale, now we have a special event, now it's our anniversary days, etc, etc. When it used to be Shop NBC, they had some of the wildest pricing. I bought a couple of jewelry pieces, that a few days later, were over $200 more than what I paid. When I returned one, it was again, on sale, this time less than what I'd paid??

To show the Retail Price and then the Clearance price followed by the Easy Pay is especially disconcerting. Now come on, this isn't rocket science. It's actually insulting to anyone with half a brain for this naĂŻve, simpleton way to capture an easy buck. If the Q were proud of its Clearance, believe it, they would show it!
