Of course, if you will not "fall" for it here, I can only assume that you refuse to shop at Macy's, Kohl's, and Bed Bath & Beyond -- all of which have similar practices.
So I see you don't get Sundays off.....

I actually like QVC and mostly everything I own in terms of jewelry, clothes, shoes and beauty products come from QVC. I want to continue to like them and purchase from them, but they have made that more difficult since 2009. Either they have priced me out (Ripka) or made me leery of making purchases due to declining quality and sizing discrepancies. They should be happy for complaints, because that means we have not given up on them yet. If the QVC did What board becomes empty, then they should worry. To get back on topic, liking them doesn't mean they are above criticism and this new approach is deceptive.

I agree! That's a great post, cosmic1!

I agree that liking to shop here does not mean they are perfect and above criticism but it should be obvious by now that loosing a few complainers' on these boards business hasn't really had much effect on their sales (even though some claim they have access to ALL the sales stats). If anyone is so serious about causing QVC to change to what they think makes perfect business sense then obviously all have sent countless of letters explaining in detail their great business plans to them and they obviously still haven't seen the light - not finding them to make much business sense! In the old days they had to have more variety because there was no internet. With the internet shopping so readily available, it's harder to get products that are not on many other sites so that accounts for the "boring programming" some speak of! Vendors with new products can effectively market their products elsewhere now. If QVC were to have more variety in what they show more than likely the same complainers would watch then run to find better prices and post it here - so QVC can't win!! They show products that catch the attention of those channel surfing and it must pay off or they would change.

When I started watching the Q, one of their standards was offering an item at a certain price and guaranteeing the price would never go up -- they would discontinue an item if it became more costly. (I realize that could be an untenable policy, but I admired their integrity.) Also, their s&h was reasonable, products genuinely were reliable quality, clearance prices were good, customer service was top notch, and shipping was fast and efficient and you knew you really would get unused, undamaged merchandise,. And they had variety -- imagine that...
Step by step, they've lost credibility. I don't trust the company now. Perhaps they don't care about those of us who know what's changed and they hope new customers won't be the wiser.
dooBdoo,
I recall just the opposite of this. Don't you remember when they would first launch a product at some "special" or "featured" price that after a period of time would actually INCREASE.
I never, ever, ever understood that marketing ploy!

Actually, they're still doing the featured price thing... but I honestly don't think there's any longer any rhyme or reason to how they price their merchandise...

And another big yada, yada, yada... Reading the boards, ALL of the boards, and not just the Q Did What, but everywhere from beauty to fashion to handbags, there is a significant outcry about QVC's miserable programming. It wouldn't appear this is about potentially losing... just a few customers. Moreover, AS customers, perhaps OUR concern isn't about what might or might not be working for THEM (and those sales numbers are released regularly...) it's about what's NOT working for US and this big lots, narrow branding approach to programming is NOT working for us...

Some of these comments could be taken as Bashing and the bashers do not like bashing.
‎01-05-2015 12:41 PM
I'm not seeing anything on here that equates to 'bashing', just spirited expressions of opinions... Regardless, some of us aren't quite as sensitive to or as preoccupied with 'bashing' as are others... But, for the record, 'bashing' is defined at various sites on the web as severe criticism, hating or violently attacking, defaming, or as a harsh, gratuitous, prejudicial attack, and again, none of that would appear to be happening here...
