I was watching QVC at 1:30 am, I know couldn't sleep, and there was Dooney and Bourke on both channels at the same time. QVC and HSN. I have not seen that before. did not watch for long $128 for a wallet, no thanks.

Dooney & Bourke was my first love in the Designer handbag category.  I still have two bags from the late 80's that look incredible and believe me, I used them.  As far as the wallets are concerned I've never worn through (or broken threads or ripped leather) on any I've owned.  I do trade out but I also own a checkbook cover with a pen holder and have used it over 22 years, always in my purse.  IMHO, one of the best brands for the money!  When you consider that I spent around $120 on that checkbook holder 22 years ago (got it on QVC)... and I'm still using it, the average spent approximately breaks down to $5.46 per year.   Anyway, yes I agree they're expensive.....but IMHO worth it..... Woman LOL

Re: A first for me watching QVC

There are a handful of products that both channels share.  At least so I've read here.  I don't do HSN.  I agree dooney has good quality, but can be on the expense side.

@wakefield64  Didn't occur to me to check HSN. I'm not fond of the QVC host who was working on the Dooney program and didn't watch it. Perhaps would have enjoyed it on HSN. It's a channel I've never watched; quess I should give it a try! Thanks for the reminder that they are carrying many of the same great lines.

HSN merged with QVC and eventually will go on to own HSN, both under the parent company Liberty Interactive so selling the same merchandise on both channels would be something they'd do, no question.....

Under the agreement, QVC's parent firm, Liberty Interactive, the holding company founded by billionaire media mogul John C. Malone, would buy the remaining 62 percent of HSN that it does not already own. The entity would then combine underQVC Group, though HSN would continue as a separate brand.Jul 6, 2017 - Google

I happened to see that too and it reminded me of a Lewis Black(comedian) bit where he walks out of a Starbucks and across the street is another Starbucks 😁

Re: A first for me watching QVC

@Q4u - The information you have posted is not correct. QVC and HSN are owned by the same parent company, Qurate Retail Group—they are completely separate entities and there has been no merger. If you scroll to the bottom of any screen here at qvc.com and click "Qurate Retail Group," you can learn more about the parent company and all of the companies it governs if you'd like to do so.

I saw, and again a Dooney presentation on HSN is nothing like what Sue does for QVC.

@Q4u  I agree they are great bags, worth the higher price and last forever BUT as I’ve gotten older, they seem way too heavy. I’ve retired all my Florentine leather bags, ones with heavy hardware and all larger bags. Even if I have to leave some of my stuff home, I just can’t manage a heavy D&B bag anymore. I did purchase a nice nylon one a few years ago, though.

Re: A first for me watching QVC

Can't wait for the argan oil battle between Adrian (HSN) and Josie. Adrian was the first I ever heard of mentioning argan oil years ago and showing the same picture of the tree.  Wonder if QVC is interested in bringing Adrian into the "family."
