I know it seems ridiculous to stop watching a show because of who anchored the program. Having been a grief counselor for years I soon realized people make very strong attachments and find it hard to move on when someone or something is removed from their life.
I have been a customer for 20+ years and loved not only some terrific clothes, household items, and garden equipment, but also the banter between host and guest.
Because of some recent changes I feel I cannot watch as regularly as in the past. I know QVC is a business and in it to make money. I just do not want them to have anymore of my money. I am just sounding off.

@Tatanoo46

Please own your feelings. I, too, am a trained grief counselor. The phenomenon of grieving over the loss of a fictional character or tv personality is real and actually very common.

My advice to those who feel so compelled to admonish someone for their feelings, perhaps do a simple Google seach before hitting "post".

@magicmoodz   Thank you for this. The lack of compassion on this board takes my breath at times. No one has the right to tell another person what they should or should not grieve over. Woman Sad

When a TV character has been in your living room or bedroom for 20 years, they become your friend!

I remember having feelings when Lucille Ball, Bob Hope and others we had watched for years died.

I don't think it is so strange!  People cope in different ways and none are wrong...just different!

This is the problem with QVC.  They want to make you feel that you are part of a family or group of friends.  They let go of hosts that inspire that goal.  QVC cannot have it both ways.  They are either a family atmosphere or a business whose bottom line is money.  I wish they would stop with the party atmosphere of having hosts wearing pajamas and drinking wine as if they were having an adult slumber party.  QVC is not family it is a business.

I agree and have stated the same in a few of my responses.  QVC has pushed the hosts to be the 'friends"

of the viewing audience constantly asking viewers to go to Facebook, etc.  I definitely have favored some hosts over others.  I was sad to see C & D leave the program...but what even amazed me more were the

inept replacements QVC has chosen to still employ that they have hired recently and in the last couple years.

They are going in the wrong direction.  Time will tell.

First of all, not one tv character, actor etc has ever become my friend. So yes, we are all different that way. Secondly the ones you mentioned died. The OP is grieving the "loss" of live people. To me that is so odd.

@Kachina624 So are you saying a person should do business with a company they no longer believe in to save the jobs of the people who work there?

I wouldn't.

@faeriemoon   Yes, if the reason is so petty that they laid off (retired) one person that you liked.

@Kachina624 Everyone has their own reasons for the decisions they make.

I'm pretty much there.  I've spent too much money and need it for other things under this economy.  I only enjoy a few of the hosts now.  It used to be entertaining.  Now it is crazy pressure and annoying hosts for the most part.

I agree.  The days of those Honora shows with classy hosts and the days when Isaac designed real fashion and not just PIMA tops are over.  Now, the chemistry between Gary and Carolyn are gone.  I have to turn shows off because the loud chatter is so annoying.  I thought I was shopping for items, not what the hosts are doing with their lives and what they are buying which take up 90% of some presentations.

Listening to the self absorbed hosts who talk about themselves constantly is NOT family in my opinion.  It gets boring.

Perhaps we wouldn't be so upset if they had talented hosts and not the format (giving how many are left every minute) they now have.  This is normal.  Maybe not in your world, but in many of ours.  We are permitted to feel this way, just as you can have your opinion.

Re: A decision I did not want to make

Don't you dare assume no one else has experienced grief.  I experienced the loss of a child and I'm still missing Carolyn.  Apparently you think you are the only one.  People who have experienced hardships can still feel sad about smaller things in life.
