A QVC CHRISTMAS CAROL ----OR----WHAT WOULD SCROOGE THINK?

This weekend is especially boring their redundant lineup leaves me not much more that I can add........so I'm doing something a little different this time for my weekend preview......

Christmas Bells clip artIT'S A QVC CHRISTMAS CAROL

/>

It all starts with QVC Scrooge removing all the variety and uniqueness and instead decides to present to you the same 15 products you've seen all year...............Truly NONE of the joy and all of the craziness......picture the disappointed faces as someone opens a package and it's yet another----(insert your favorite QVC product here).....BAH HUMBUG!!!! CHRISTMAS IS A HUMBUG according to the Q....!!!

<img class=

What if the Powers That Be were visited by 3 ghosts......

Let's start with the GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST!!!!!----

/>

The Ghost takes QVC Scrooge back in time......

<img class=

It was a fun time for QVC......why there were games, calm hosts, and variety from the 1990's to 2009---

/>

Coach Fine Leathers was an early vendor, they sold $750,000 in merchandise making AM STYLE the best accessories hour ever!

The QVC Morning Show debuted with Dan Hughes and Pat James Dementri

on January 3, 1995 QVC launched THE QUEST FOR AMERICA'S BEST-QVC's 50/50 Tour. The year long search to discover 1,000 of the best new products from American entrepreneurs!

There were Klondike Gold Rush Days, California Gold Rush, Coach, Michael Kors, and Tacori later ...Rachel Ray and Joan Rivers came aboard....Yves Saint Laurent premiered. There was a variety, a freshness, something fun to watch and buy!

In 2008 Women's Wear Daily rated QVC.com the number one e-tailer for innovation, functionality, lunch time specials, and brand boutiques....

Also in 2008 QVC is ranked number 2 retailer in Customer Satisfaction.....

In 2009 QVC is named Accessory Retailer Of The Year and RETAILER OF THE YEAR by the American Apparel And Footwear Association.....

<img class=

The QVC Scrooge goes to sleep with a smile.....those were fun days indeed, especially for the customers.....then he is awakened by the next ghost.....!!

******

I am the THE GHOST OF QVC PRESENT!

/>

QVC SCROOGE-Well Mr. Ghost everything is just wonderful at QVC these days...our customers are using multiple mobile platforms while they watch us on TV.... They are Facebooking, and posting on ToGather, Pinterest, and Instagram....

THE GHOST.....Perhaps they are using mobile devices to play Words With Friends and not shopping....perhaps they find your presentations boring, more and more customers are complaining about your repetitive programming and products...... And don't get me started with how social media isn't translating into sales! He said with a frown.....

QVC SCROOGE-Why QVC's market value tops $13 billion more than twice as much as the combined stock market values of Sears, Kmart, and JCPenney.

THE GHOST--But aren't those companies struggling or near bankruptcy the ghost points out.....

QVC Scrooge just smiles......why our CEO just returned from China and we are in 86 million homes there thanks to our business partner China National Radio and TV affiliates. And in the next couple of years we will be more homes in China than in the U.S. ......

The GHOST smiles and points to a TV to show what QVC presenting for this weekend....Keep this up the ghost says and I think you will be right......

The Ghost points at the screen so QVC SCROOGE can witness the lineup for December 13 & 14.....

<img class=

QVC GHOST-Why it's DULL DELL for Saturday and those boring GIFT SHOWS featuring Dell...........and Sunday why it's APPLE PRODUCTS AND ELECTRONICS!!! And don't sales of electronics continue to decrease.....why drive away your customers!

/> <img src=

QVC SCROOGE-Two-thirds of QVC's annual sales value is still American. Why we sold 543,000 Frost Guard windshield blankets at $22 each last month.

/>

THE GHOST-Perhaps they were buying them in order for QVC to STOP showing the darn things ....

QVC SCROOGE and Sundays are always special with IN THE KITCHEN WITH DAVID, very popular with the foodies.....

<img id=

And everyone loves Mary's selfies...The Ghost cringes....

/>

QVC SCROOGE-Someone walks into Macy's and says, I don't need a $500 Vitamix, then you turn on TV and see the Vitamix demonstrated, and you get a deep understanding. Why this thing can do ice cream, soups, and smoothies....so I understand why I need one....

THE GHOST-Maybe YOU need one, but do your loyal customers need one.....and if they already have one why would they watch week after week as you continue to show them over and over again, The Ghost said shaking his head in despair.....

QVC SCROOGE-Many big sellers are self-made problem sellers who gain cult status....

THE GHOST-Oh, I've heard of WEN......

QVC SCROOGE-BTW on December 22 Jayne Brown, Albany Irvin, and Mary will be kicking off a new series...

THE GHOST-is this just a new title for NEW YEAR, NEW YOU....and if I had ME TIME it would definitely NOT be watching QVC!!!! And with a disgruntled sigh he spouted....What a WEIRD pairing of hosts!!!!

/>

QVC SCROOGE-why we did schedule in some variety....the 2 hour Dooney Show from 7-9PM EST.....and I'm sure THE ONE, THE ONLY LOGO LOCK will be presented....he said with enthusiasm

<img class=

THE GHOST--Talk about haunting the customers.....he said with a shudder....

THE GHOST-Take the Cratchit Family why they have been loyal Q shoppers for many years and all they want is some variety in your products and programming....how can they face their family and friends giving them Poo-Pourri, flashlights, Emjoi, Chi, Clarista Tools, Temptations, and they went broke giving teachers and garbage collectors those Vitamix blenders and Dyson vacuums......And Tiny Tim wants something other than a FLASHPAD!

/>

QVC SCROOGE-I'll have ya know in the last quarter QVC had a net sales increase of 4%.......

<img class=

THE GHOST-Well ShopHQ and HSN each had a 7% increase in their sales...and QVC had Christmas in July in that quarter too...think what it would have been without that boost...

QVC SCROOGE-We have exciting things in store....why we will be in France in 2015......

The Ghost sadly shakes his head....QVC Scrooge just doesn't GET IT!

THE GHOST unable to take it anymore returns QVC Scrooge to his room.....

******

Now it's time for THE GHOST that QVC Customers (if there are any out there) wonder about the most and perhaps QVC EXECS wonder too......THE GHOST OF THE FUTURE.....

/>

Will QVC follow the path of the likes of Montgomery Ward, Circuit City, Woolworths

<img class=

STAY TUNED........and one can only hope, like Scrooge in the Dickens tale, that QVC will listen to the lesson learned from the ghosts and their customers and change their ways....and bring us just a bit more variety!!!!

GOD BLESS US EVERYONE! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Re: A QVC CHRISTMAS CAROL ----OR----WHAT WOULD SCROOGE THINK?

Spurt, you've really outdone yourself this time! It just keeps getting better and better! (YOU, not QVC- {#emotions_dlg.w00t} !)

I need to go back and read this again to make sure I didn't miss anything. In the meantime, here's a message for QVC:

QVC, here's Santa with your Christmas present!

Bring us better "stuff" next year, or you will get a bigger pile of coal (and no sales)! {#emotions_dlg.lol}{#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}{#emotions_dlg.lol}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Re: A QVC CHRISTMAS CAROL ----OR----WHAT WOULD SCROOGE THINK?

Good job Spurt... I enjoyed this installment... Well until the selfie of the AP... I'm so thoroughly sick of them I can't even find them humorous anymore! You know, kind of like Ebenezer Q-ooge... I'm so thoroughly bored and disenchanted, I can hardly bare to watch anymore! I've already ordered up burnt Cheryl's cookies for Mikie's stocking stuffer and am hoping he wakes up to absolutely nothing under his Bethlehem Lights tree... Incidentally, I'd guess that when the notion of 'variety' comes up in the Q's management meetings, the unanimous response is a big BAH HUMBUG!

Merry Christmas to all of the weekend update gang!

Was there really a QVC Monopoly game? You put together a great presentation, and I agree that about 15 items get presented over and over, but it isn't all the same.

Excellent job, SPURT! It was about 2009 that things started to decline and keeps getting worse. QVC used to be must see TV, now, not so much. If I am not watching, I am not buying it thinking about buying. Maybe the best thing for them will be to fall to 2nd or 3rd place, so they wake up.

Ouch. The truth hurts.

Betting they're right now pre-planning how to spin 4th quarter results.

I think you ended the year with the best, too bad management will never see it.

Are they too busy chasing the customer overseas to realize what is happening at home?

Re: A QVC CHRISTMAS CAROL ----OR----WHAT WOULD SCROOGE THINK?

Spurt , this was brilliant and unfortunately so true!! Remember when the hosts would be in costumes for the gold rush days, variety has sadly become a thing of the past. Enjoy your Christmas and let's see what 2015 brings.
