I live in sub-zero blizzard country and wear long sleeves only when it gets down to 20 degrees.  I prefer 3/4 sleeves when it's cool enough and short sleeves other times.  I'm old and my arms aren't what they used to be but I'd rather be comfortable than suffer because of my arms.

Re: 3/4 length sleeves

[ Edited ]

I have a lot of 3/4 sleeves too but I really like the recent D&C shirts I bought with ballet sleeves (fits just below my elbow). I live in Louisiana and wear my 3/4 sleeves in the winter I have very few long sleeves.

I buy elbow, 3/4, or full length sleeves.  My caveats -  no ruffles on my sleeves and no sleeves so long half of my hand will be covered.

I want long sleeves.  If I want 3/4, I will push them up.  That way I can have both, but I don't want 3/4 to begin with.

I'm a minority, I never buy a 3/4 sleeve. I love short and elbow length as well as long sleeves. But, my mom and grandma love 3/4 sleeves. Smiley Happy

I can't stand 3/4-length sleeves. They feel strange to me and always seem to look sloppy or unfinished; I think I've seen maybe one or two tops over the years that had the right proportion of not too baggy and not too tight, especially as they taper. Like one other poster noted, even when I've tried to give them a chance, I just end up pushing/scrunching them back to a short-sleeve length.

And as with capris, a 3/4 length is not particularly flattering if you carry extra width in the area where the cuffs align (which is common)—who wants to draw attention to the widest parts of those spots?

Until I started typing this reply, I hadn't realized that I felt so strongly on this subject, which gave me a nice chuckle...  Smiley Very Happy

Up until last year, I loved 3/4 sleeves. Now I can't stand them. I donated all of mine to a local charity.

My arms are short. Thats why I prefer 3/4 sleeves.

I like and wear both.  In winter long sleeves are a must and often layer (and I'm in The South).
