Re: $10.00 to Try on an Item??

Yes, you are talking about having to send things back because the quality control is not doing its job, or the host/hostess are not properly stating the facts.  So, if you put things on check status until you read reviews on a specific item they count how many of those you have done and then cut you off from check status.  Soooooooooo, I guess they want you to write a bad review, pay to send item back etc etc.  It is our money THEY are spending and I don't think any of us can afford that.  I can't believe they do that.  So much for QVC,  shop HSN, no problems there!!!!

Re: $10.00 to Try on an Item??

Well, I just fell into this category of wasted money with a pair of shoes.  Actually $12.  I finally decided to try a pair of IM moccasins A255305.  Stated on the description that they were true to size.  They are not.  The fit is extremely tight and so uncomfortable that it's obvious they will never stretch to that "true" size.  They also look like men's shoes, which didn't show up that way on tv.  This will be the last shoes I ever order from the Q, and I now have a very negative opinion about IM shoes.  Very disappointing.

It does make you think, doesn't it?

You really have to consider the cost of shipping and handling and if something isn't right for you and doesn't fit, then you will incur additional charges.  So what first started off as a great price, in the end, was no bargain really at all!  Of course, this can be said with anything you buy through the mail.

I have really curtailed my ordering on-line these days.  I just can't afford to waste extra money.  That is why I do most of my shopping in person.  I'm not saying I don't enjoy on-line shopping, because I do.  Or that I don't see a lot of nice things on the Q and other places that I wouldn't find other places.  But I do like the fact that when I go to a store, I can try an item on, I can see the actual colors, fabrics, etc.  And, if I don't like something, I just take it back and I don't have any more charges!!

You said just what I was thinking!!

Let's face it, unless two way shipping is free or low cost, never the case here, there are some things it just makes absolutely no sense to order versus shopping locally.

I couldn't agree more.  Shoes are most definitely one of them!  So are most clothes for me, so I do not purchased clothing from QVC.

@Lipstickdiva sure, I understand that.  I bought items that support charitable efforts before and yes, rather than return them, I've given them away instead.

But as I also said, I would rather donate directly to the charity than buy something that I don't want/need.

Absolutely.  I thought the sales pitch to buy a pair of shoes just to buy them to give away or leave them setting out to look at was rather ridiculous.  In that case most definitely I'd donate directly.

But if I really wanted a pair of shoes presented, I'd buy them.

HSN is the only shopping channel currently that refunds original s/h paid.  I wouldn't not be at all surprised to see that change in the very near future.

Very few companies that charge s/h, refund that s/h on a return.
