@ShawnieIMO you are taking what is appropriate and what is not on this forum way too seriously. This forum IMO is supposed to be fun and if you have to worry about everything you say for fear of getting deleted than what's the point.  Who cares what the MODS. think is rude, crude or lude, let them delete it and move on.

Most times they give a reason for deletion, did they not on yours?

I agree that they should always tell us why a post is removed, so we'll know what not to do/say in the future.

I don't remember where mine came in the list, but it is gone and two were removed and marked as one rude and the other inappropriate.  I swear I don't understand.  How am I supposed to Not Do It Again???  And I don't keep copies of what I post, so it's not like I can even stare at it reflect and say Oh That Must Be It.

@Shawnie - Have you tried looking in your profile? It actually does keep track of your most recent posts. I'm not sure if the text would still be there if the post was removed, but you could give it a try—just hover over your forum username near the top of the page and select "Profile" from the menu that appears. The "Recent Activities" section lists your posts and allows you to click the thread title to see what you wrote.

It isn't there.  Oh well.

@Shawnie - Are you saying the "Recent Activities" section has no link to the thread where your post was deleted? Or just that the text from your post isn't there? If it's the latter, when you click the link, does the placeholder show the moderator's comment about the deleted post?

In recent activities the thread is not there.  Is that weird or what!

@Shawnie - Yes, that's pretty strange! I think I agree with previous posters that perhaps your comment was a reply to someone else's that was deleted and that's why you can't easily find it—unless the whole thread has disappeared? At any rate, it seems clear that you're a kind and conscientious poster, so I wouldn't worry about any potential future infractions too much. Smiley Very Happy

@Shawnie.  Once your post is deleted it is no longer listed under your activity.

Probably bc they want you to knock it off, take a break!

Sooooo much 'unhappiness', bait to insult or generate arguments & negativity is posted on the forums. Constant bashing of fashion styles someone doesn't like, celebrities, hosts and vendors. It's like some are stuck in a grinder Woman Tongue

I've seen many topics that were shut down by Q mods without a reason given.  Really, we need to know what is ok and what crosses the line other than the obvious.

@Chi-town girl, I must have missed where @Shawnie said anything about her post being insulting, argumentative, or rude.

Personally, I think they're out of control with the deletions and it also seems increasingly no reason is given, rather the entire post just disappears. Once poofed, your remarks are also deleted from your profile. Their interpretation of the guidelines seems to become more and more restrictive and hence the boards become less and less interesting while many posters become less and less comfortable participating...

Why do some posters accuse others of bashing and writing negative comments when they have written negative comments as well?? Can someone explain?

I know that negatively commenting on all some hosts by name is verboten, but why is giving one's opinion on garments a rule violation?

@Chi-town girl

QVC is a shopping channel and they are trying to sell their products---thats their main function.....They use this forum, as well as Facebook, emails etc to gather feedback on products, and yes even hosts and vendors.  Some of the other categories are more or less to keep us connected to their website and engaged in hopes of future sales. (Ive read interviews in financial journals). Haven't you received requests to complete surveys from businesses and stores asking what you thought of employees, overall experience with a series of questions?

If potential customers are making fun of a fashion style doesnt that perhaps alert the buyers to perhaps why something is not selling as they expected????  Or havent you heard presentations where vendors have said "the QVC customer feedback asked us to change this, or offer that..."

And as far as comments about hosts/vendors---habits and things that make watch less or turn the channel, and therefore buy less are important too....it impacts their bottom line....in fact this is what was posted by QVC's SOCIAL TEAM regarding Forum Guidelines:

*****Community members are welcome to share a negative review about a product or brand, unhappiness with programming, and even share displeasure with a host. But nasty comments will be removed and may result in the author being permanently banned.

***** We strive to continually improve your experience with QVC and appreciate your suggestions.

(So everyone should just let the Moderators do THEIR JOB and determine what they feel is a "nasty comment", and snarky comments to other posters arent allowed per Guidelines either--some of these are much worse than what is said about a host/vendor)

  • Personal attacks are not allowed - Don't attack or insult another Community member. It's not helpful and it doesn't make for a friendly place. This includes calling other members names. Disagreement is no excuse for poor manners and we will not allow frustration to turn into a personal attack.

I remember a thread here about Amy using a word that had an inappropriate conotation---and Amy remarked about it recently because she told the vendor she got in trouble for using an inappropriate word.....

And I even have seen comments posted about a host where MODS indicated that they deleted the post but would pass the feedback on---so apprently the way the poster worded it may not have been appropriate, but it was apparently still constructive that the Mods thought someone should be aware of it......

And yes there's the option of ordering online, but the website has very little actual product info, and most customers want to see the product demonstrated or how it looks.........

If this type of thread isnt to your liking you can give yourself a break and skip over it...
