Any one giving this to their dogs?

@goldensrbest   Yes. I give this to both my dogs. just 1000 mg a day.

Did you star this after the fda scare on dog food? Have you changed to a food with grain?And have you had her taurine level checked?

What if Taurine is in their food??...wouldn't that be enough?

@goldensrbest  I have been giving extra taurine to my older Golden just for heart health in general. I take it myself as a supplement.

 

I did switch  both of my dogs to a grain  based , pea and lentil free  food after reading about  grain free and peas and lentils affecting heart health. 

 

Taurine is abundant in raw meat....but not so available in cooked meat.  Since I do not feed raw meat often( occasionally raw beef heart) adding a low dose is not harmful. No, never have had their levels checked.

I switched foods also, been learning all i can about this ,fb has a taurine  group if interested,lots of info.
