betteb you were right about that medication, atarax,he gave me that along with Imuran,zantac,2 different topical steroids to use. I was so very sick last night, haven't been to bed yet so if I make no sense forgive me.

He said no sun, wear long sleeves and pants,in 98 degree heat thats impossible.

Loved seeing your cat Kitty, beeteb, she is so pretty and I am such a cat lover and animals make me so happy. I hope you feel better too.

Tissyanne,SIlverlIning and Naes thanks so much for always stopping by and checking in on Cookie and me.

@beastielove I had a Calico years ago when I was growing up, named Patches. I really believe Calico's are genetically sweet and gentle. I've known them to be very empathetic and are excellent mothers to any species, "hoomins" included. Your Sophie was lucky you rescued her. Smiley HappyHeart

Re: beauty junkie , I send my concern for you and the family.

Hi everyone and thanks again for aking about me. The new medication dfor the itching has been a big help and thats thanks to betteb. MY Dr has me on 3 times a day so I am truly zonked, spacy as can be but not wating to rip y skin off. Many of the welts and hives have faded but still have pelenty. mY hope is they go away permamnetly cause I can't live on this medication.too out of it.

Naes the funny thing about the Zantac is he wants me on it cause it works as a histamine along with the zyrtec. I am on 40mgs of omprazlae for GERD which I have quite badly and ulcers. I never knew Zantac worked like that good to know.

betteb thanls for sharing Kitty's story with us. She is suhc a pretty giel. I adore cats and wish I oculd pot my Cookiie's picture. She will be 11 next month and is hrere with me right now. When I was crying formt he pain of these welts she came and laid on my chest and juts stared at my face. How could I not smile after that. Pets, the best medicine in the world.

@beauty junkie I'm so happy to hear the Atarax is helping. It doesn't matter if it zonks you... just keep taking it. There is always the posibility that those hives could get infected, they are potential open areas on the skin, just like a cut.

I had heard about Zantac blocking histamine release, so it for sure would be better than nothing and in combination with Atarax should only help.

Kitty says thanks very much to all for the compliments. It's not easy being so beautifulmini haha.gif

Re: beauty junkie , I send my concern for you and the family.

I thought what betteb said a few minutes ago aced this potential infection as you heal.

This is some of the best news I've heard from you, beauty 'j' in a very  l o n g  time. I will maintain what I said about the relief in 3 days.

I found a product (otc) for the bath or soak, Aveeno for Eczema.

Once in high school I over heard a classmate of mine say, "I have to look good for my public", and you came to mind...after all those years, that popped up!

,,,,and, what betteb said just reinforced that. It's not easy being beautiful, NOPE it isn't.

~I am thanking Atarax for the zonking out; good for you as a rest, as you heal 1 day at a time.

Cookie's  part, lying on your chest, is good nurse medicine...I'll send her a stripe for her kitty cat cap...........

Good News....continue on our dear patient.

Beauty Junkie, I've been following NAES' thread here and wanted to add two things tonight:  there's a very special Schmoo post waiting for you, and I second NAES' suggestion re: the Aveeno, as I've had hideous bouts from time to time with off-the-charts itching due to eczema.

The other thing from the Aveeno line as you progress that also has helped me is their Skin Relief Body Wash.  It has the colloidal oatmeal, too, that provides relief.  Plus, it's soap-free, fragrance-free, dye-free and hypoallergenic.  It was the last part of my protocol as the eczema backed off.

Thinking of you every day!

Sammycat-I'm not beauty junkie, but I wanted to say thanks for the review on the body wash. I'm going to look for it this weekend. My skin is terrible right now.

Hi Betteb, I hope that Aveeno body wash helps you, too.  After some soaks with the Aveeno in the tub, it was very helpful, but I needed shower solution, too, and this fit the bill.

Warning, it can slick up the shower stall bottom a little and you have to keep after it, but it calmed my skin down after several major flares and I won't be without it.

Yes, my avatar was my kitty, a remarkable, ornery, fabulous older boy named Mister Schmoo.  The kind posters on this forum followed a thread of mine that I started 4 years ago when he was diagnosed with heart failure and battled it to a record-breaking 2+ years.  Although he is no longer with us, he was my soul-mate kitty and I'm writing a book now about him and the amazing, loving posters on this pet lovers thread, who lifted us up with their selflessness and compassion for a long, long time!

Now to your kitty:  She is ADORABLE.  Can she visit me for a while?  My very first kitty as a child was a calico named "Fifi" and I'll love her forever!

Sammycat, I've seen the Schmoo thread, may have even posted on it way back when it first started. I'm so sorry you lost him.

I understand about soul mate cats, Kitty is mine. I love all cats and have been owned by them for as long as I can remember, but some cats...well there is just an extra special connection.Heart
