Re: beauty junkie , I send my concern for you and the family.

betteb I am so sorry you are ailing too. I also have RA along with Lupus and fibro and now my hives and welts are on my feet so I am trouble walking. The Dr will either be placing me on Imuran or chemo Wed,we have to talk about meds. I was on Orencia infusions for almost 2 years for my RA but it stopped helping so on nothing now except tramadol for pain. These autoimmune disease's are brutal, many people hear arthritis and think sore joints. My lungs are not great either. Hope you feel better and I sure hope my DR can get this under control cause these welts and hives are painful.

Silver lining thanks again for checking in. I wish I could say I was better but nothing helps the rash.I take zyrtec daily for allergies,no effect, have ben adding benadry everyday little relief and topically nothing helps. Not like a normal rash.MY good news is my Cookie seems better, limps but not as badly or as often and is eating very well and will play with me so I am hopeful the supplement we are giving her will help her.Its only been a few weeks and were told it will take a while to really have an effect.

Tissyanne the humidity is about the worst thing for myhealth and unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it. Usuallly we have the rainy season, the summer but last winter was a wet one. Hoping for a nice cool dry winter this year,it would make a big difference in my health.Hope your Sugarbear is doing alright,I always pray for her and all our furbabies and all the kind ladies here.

Thanks beauty junkie, my RA went undiagnosed/untreated for a long time, so I am playing catch up ( I hope).

There are some prescription antihistamine's that might be more helpful with your rash and hives. It's all inflammation and needs to be controlled as best as possible. Atarax is an old faithful script antihistamine that you Dr might consider. I also think Benedryl might be helpful in a larger than OTC dose....not telling you what to do..just trying to help, because I know how miserable rash/hives are.

Blessing to you and your Cookie Smiley Happy

betteb so sorry it took so long ot diagnose uyou but osmetimes it can be difficult. Bloodwork doiesn' always ready positive but one can still have the disease. I will ask my Dr about the Atarax, very interested cause I can't sleep, its making me crazy with all the scratching. Thank you for telling me about this,it sire can't hurt. I may have to go on a special diet, are you on one?

@beauty junkie Yes, Atarax would be something you would take at night, it will make you drowsy, but it usually works well on hives and rashes. Stops the scratching.

My only diet restriction right now is fluid and salt, because of the problem with fluid in my lungs. I've been able to back off the fluid restriction some, but still watching my salt.

I really don't know a lot about anti-inflammatory diets.

Re: beauty junkie , I send my concern for you and the family.

That was so thoughtful to send beauty j'' words of encouragement, as the same to you -she has sent. I had no idea lupus and RA was an issue with your health. I did know about some complications (maybe) several months ago but nothing like what I have just read.

I am very sad to hear that you were hospitalized.

.....could not get on Internet due to high winds from a tornado coming through from elsewhere and the RAIN -RAIN -RAIN. Our cable, phone and internet was totally o u t. I have a back up system with iPad which was on for about 3 hours but that kept going blank, along with jumping pages on & off that i used my cell for any calls to be coming in. We were so fortunate to have our electric on yesterday and still today. I have just hear 130,000 are without power a few counties not that far away.

I was able to read where beauty told us that she will be seeing this Dr. Wednesday. Learning more and more about this on going reaction.

{ I still maintain this is something steroid related }.

Thank you each: Silver Lining, lovestoteach, Beastielove, Tissyanne...along with anyone whom I may have missed.

Re: beauty junkie , I send my concern for you and the family.

....just getting back to your last update, bj.

I explained 1/2 hour or so our Enet was down and had no way to post but could read part of what you have mentioned on iPad, then it it was out...all weather  and winds knocking a lot of residences' power out. But, now back on for the time being.

I agree with what you have known by now, this is not a regualar text book rash, although you mentioned the Benadryl antih. helped some.

Very glad you have this wednesday app't!  I have what- known you for over 3 years and know many of the symtoms you have had per autoimmune, especially the RA and now the lupus, again/flare up. What I did not know was this somewhat same reaction happened years ago in your teen. That should be told also. It could have been something like the ster. inj. I will wait for any updates, if this dr. has to send you 'to' another, as a referral.

The good news that I have read, ' Cookie is feeling much better'.

Having an eleven year old pet, Cookie is not surprising to start noticing arthritis. I am aware that (usually) dogs are more susceptible than cats at this age but could be very mistaken. I'm glad her diet has change since I am a strict believer in foods and what or how they affect the body- both human and pets.   I, personally take glucosomine and about 3 other major food supplements....have my husband on the very same vit/min.formula.

Your friends here, on PL have been very wonderful and concerned -sending good comfort.

Sending prayerful thoughts for you on the next visit, NAES:
