They don't look very nice when those fluffy feathers are dirty and covered with poop.  I like my chickens to be pristine.  Do you suppose that big boy would tolerate a bath?

@Kachina624     I don't think I'd put him in the same tub with Kitty............

@Desertdi  Boy did that evoke a horrible image!

Re: Yikes that is one big chicken!

I don't know anything about chickens however seeing I live with a pigeon and I consider a pigeon a chicken's cousin once or twice removed, lol, I would imagine a chicken has good hygiene like my pigeon.

I leave my pigeon a 9x13 glass baking dish (easy to clean and sterilize) on a beach towel daily and he partakes of a bath at least 5 days out of 7.

I suppose with a chicken that large, I would need a child's pool.  I don't know.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise

Hi @Bird mama

I wished they gave more specifics. Wing span is 5 feet, 1 peck is equivalent to being shot by a bb gun, 1 drum stick feeds a family of 4. Are you watching April?

He is indeed a very floofy - I wonder how much he weighs - could be all feathers and not much meat.

Must be so cute and never get old.  Cat Tongue

What about your sparrow(?), @Bird mama?

Just read that chickens take dust baths, but you can also bathe 'em in water.

No seasoning, though.  ;-)

@Yahooey

Females weigh up to 14 lbs., males up to 18.

Looks mostly like floof, though.
