I guess love shows really aren't so silly after all ! I just saw on the net somebody stole a body from a funeral home. Took the corpse ! Yikes !

SCOOP: Get Ready For Another Young and Restless Prattastrophe This November Sweeps

Chuck Pratt turned CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless on its generally traditional head last February by launching storylines featuring a plane crash, roof cave-in and a serial killer all in the same Sweeps period.  I hear the lover of soap operatic "shock and awe" campaigns is about to do it again this November!

Setside moles tell me Y&R is planning a "Prattastrophe" of epic proportions for the all-important month when ratings help determine a television program's advertising rates. Look for an explosion of some sort and the debut of a glamorous new set, rumored to be the Newman Enterprises Ballroom. Oh, and there may just be casualties!

Pratt took over Y&R head writing duties from newly-hired General Hospital top scribes Jean Passanante and Shelly Altman in late 2014. After a rather quiet on screen debut from the man who gave us a CGI tornado on All My Children, Pratt finally put his stamp on the CBS soap during February Sweeps.

While many fans and critics (including the one writing this blog post) were initially appalled by Pratt's post-February Sweeps 2015 take on the show, Y&R has consistently risen in the Nielsens since that time frame.  As of the week ending August 14, Y&R was up nine percent in total viewers over last year. In addition to writing daytime's No. 1 soap, Pratt shares executive producer duties with Jill Farren Phelps.

Excerpts from a 'Marisa' interview:

Marisa and Victor are going to be going head to head a lot in the coming weeks. Can you tease how she'll deal with him trying to intimidate her? She's no shrinking violet, so I can't see her bending over easily.

Pernas: Absolutely not, which is what I love about her and why I feel so honored that the show has given me this role. She's the resident spitfire of Genoa City, and going head to head with Eric Braeden, I mean... he's a legend. It's such an honor to have that kind of war with him. But you know, this isn't Marisa's first rodeo. And that's how I sort of imagine it. She has been through this before. This probably isn't her first rich guy. She makes a point of [being around] affluent gentlemen, so I'm sure she knows how to handle somebody like Victor. Victor certainly has strange and unorthodox ways of doing things, and she's no stranger to the unorthodox. So I think it's a good pairing. I think she'll be able to handle most of what he can throw at her. But we'll see! He's a daddy bear protecting his cub, so we'll see how she will handle that.

Speaking of Noah, it seems Marisa has had a thing for bad boys in the past. I mean, she dated Marco, a drug dealer! So what is the appeal when it comes to Noah?

Pernas: Well, the fact that Noah is a novelty to her. That's what's so appealing. The right word might be security. She feels that with all of the other guys she's been with, she had no idea if she was going to be their flavor of the week, if she was in it for the long haul, or what was the deal, if they were going to get rid of her. But with Noah, she feels a safety and a security and also this love. From the beginning of their relationship, he never asked for anything in return. When he automatically offered her a place to stay when they first met, she said, "Well, what do you want in return?" Because she used to date people who at first seemed nice, but they would want something in return. So Noah just being there for her in her most vulnerable moment I think was the most important thing in the world. And him being there for her really showed her what she was missing in dating all these other guys, that feeling of protection and love and security. Just unconditional love, which is such a new concept for her, for sure.

Sharon tells Faith that she and Dylan are getting married and Faith is happy. Faith reminds Sharon that Sage’s shower is today. She tells Sharon she can’t wait for Sharon’s baby. Dylan comes home and Faith runs to hug him and asks what the baby’s name is going to be. She says it’s going to be a girl and her name will be Charlotte. They can call her Charlie. After she leaves Dylan asks Sharon why the tears. She says they are happy tears.

Sage, Nick, Noah, Marisa, Kevin and Mariah arrive for Sage’s Shower. The shower proceeds. Sharon, Dylan and Faith arrive. Mariah approaches Sharon and notices her engagement ring and everyone else notices. Nikki is not happy and says leave it to Sharon to make Sage’s shower all about herself.

 Sharon shows off her engagement ring while Vicky tells Nikki keep her cool. Nick congratulates Dylan. Sage opens her gifts. As Dylan makes a speech Sharon makes a quick exit.

A cop comes in with a shoe and Devon identifies it as Hilary’s. The cop tells him it is now a recovery and no longer a rescue.

 At the bar Neil has a flashback: He is on the trail, picks up his phone and hears a scream.

Wed preview:

 Adam admits he should have told Chelsea that Jack called and wanted them to come back to GC. Chelsea asks why did he buy them a house
- Nick tells Noah he and Sage are getting married tonight
- Jack tells everyone that they will all walk away with what they had prior to the merger. Victor says not quite everything .

Sorry to hear about the ratings increases. I guess this means we'll never be rid of him (Pratt). And I guess that means I'm officially a 'former' fan and viewer. Like someone said and I quoted it a while back, his shows are 'almost interesting', but for me, not quite interesting enough.
