[We rescue cats]

This is Baby, she was born on our patio in 2011 to a totally feral kitty, as a result she is semi-feral. When she is afraid she comes and sits on me because some raccoons were after her and I grabbed her away from them before they could make her their dinner. She is tiny, not even 5#. Sadly she is living her last days with us, we've been battling issues with her, the worst of which is fecal incontinence which we have been trying to get under control. Yesterday it became evident that we are losing that battle. I'm afraid that her time with us coming to an end and I fear she knows it as well, last night she curled up on my lap-which is what she has always done when she is afraid. She will soon be with Bobby and Moose-she loved them so, and her mom. We are going to try to keep her going for another week of love and favorite things. . . which her vet thinks is a good timeframe for her.

Such a pretty girl.  You've given her many years of love and comfort and she couldn't have asked for better "parents".

Letting go is the hardest thing all of us have to do.  It's the price we pay, for sharing our lives with these beautiful creatures and we wouldn't want to miss that.  Just remember all the wonderful memories and happy times you shared.

    What a pretty girl. How lucky she is to have you in her life. This is the time of pet parenthood that is the hardest-- the letting go. I am so sorry for you and for Baby.

I had the same issue with my cat, Slick, in Dec. I bought all kinds of OTC  meds and even prescription and nothing helped. I felt so bad having to give him meds 2-3 times a day which made him miserable. He also lost so much weight. He is still missed by me and I think my 2 other cats act differently since I had him put to sleep. It was a sad day, for sure. So, I'm sorry you're going thru this, but just remember what a different life she would have had without you to love her and give her a good home.
