I have never, ever known one person who died or became ill from their pet licking their face.  In fact, I don't know one person who has died or became ill from anything related to their pet at all.

 

My dog licks my face.  And I don't care.  And I'm not worrying about some weird article.  There are also all the articles out there about not letting your dog sleep with you because of how "dirty" they are, this that and the other thing.

 

My dog doesn't root around in garbage cans either.
