Any one received the February issue on dog foods, i have been reading,and they recommend foods with meat supported with meat meals.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

@goldensrbest I, also, have a Golden!  Smiley Happy  I began cooking REAL food for her a few years ago.  I also supplement with a kibble - one of the two kibbles deemed safe and healthy by truthaboutpetfood dot com.  And yes, dogs need REAL meat!

Yes, they've recommended that for some time.

 

Their reasoning in recommending meat meal (a specific type of meat like chicken not just generically labeled 'meat') is that any meat itself has a lot of moisture which reduces the protein content.  And many commercial dog foods only contain minimal amounts (and types) of meat, and get much of their protein values from other sources.
