@goldensrbest.  I hope you are referring to a color-headed white collie, that is one with a sable, tri-colored, or blue merle heads and colored spots on its body.  A pure white dog would be an the result of breeding two merle dogs and would probably (most certainly) result in blindness and other abnormalities.  Only the unethical breed such dogs.  The only trouble with the color-headed dogs is that they are copious shedders.  That white fur comes out in handfuls.

This was white,with tan mixed in on the body. Very pretty.

@goldensrbest.  The breed standard is for one of the 3 colored heads and spots on the body.  Tan would be Sable.  Was the head colored?

White head, not as much sable on head as the one in picture.

This is a picture of our guy.

He had a younger brother that was pure white, from face to tail. The pure white collie was blind and deaf but such a sweet guy.

PS My brother had a smooth collie. It was mostly white with a few sable spots but not very many. His ears and cheeks were sable but not much else.
