@Pook

I might not have described our situation well enough.  When they are out front, it's not a problem.  They use a 40ft light weight cable attached to a swivel hook on a tree stump.  It's the back 3/4 acre that is fenced with your typical chainlink.  The entire perimeter is already reinforced at the bottom with railroad ties.  We had two Labs.  They could dig to China.  Looking for a solution to them not climbing/jumping over the fence.  I was gone all day today.  My husband was watching both dogs in the chainlinked area when Frankie jumped over it.  Luckily she came to him when he called.

Oh my lawn man would love that (not) lol  We already have a fence installed, we're just having a hard time keeping Frankie from jumping.  My husband has seen many homes with wireless fences and told me to get some info on them.  Thanks for your response.

Thank you for your experience with an invisible fence.  I wouldn't call either dog "aggressive" but one is definitely more stubborn.  How did the company analyze the aggressiveness of your dog?

@monicakm , there was no issue with my Lab.  Obvious to anyone who met her.  She was trained at four months old.  The people who owned the business were experienced.  They do obedience classes, breed and board dogs for a living.  They also have a close relationship with one of the local vet clinics.  They  brought one of their dogs to work with mine during training.  My dog loved the training.

Our concern about construction in our development was real.  Our neighbour's dog was killed by a vehicle.  She installed an invisible fence with their next dog.

@monicakm , you should talk to someone who owns a company that does this.  They can give you an idea as to cost and experience.  I was very comfortable with the people that installed mine.  The good systems are guaranteed for life.  They can also meet your dogs and assess for suitability.  I met my installer at an annual Home Show.

Good luck with your choice.  LM
