I will say a pray that you find a resolution for Teaspoon. It can be frustrating and so hard to watch your baby suffer.
At least your vet and staff listen to you.
All the best.

I've had about five dogs with heart disease over the years. They all were on lasix and enalapril. When Vetmedin became available they were on that in addition to the other two. They were miracle drugs for them. If Teaspoon isn't eating, the heart disease is probably very progressed. I doubt if the meds are causing that side effect. I'm very sorry for what you're going through and for Teaspoon, too.

I saw where the OP mentioned about the meds her baby is on and maybe discontinuing them.
You know, I've been there and problem most mom's and dad's of furbabies have too.
Quick story about my previous furbabies. So my husband's favorite cat (Fabio) after my husband died developed terrible asthma. He would pant and look like he was going to pass out. It was so scary.
So the Vet put him on steroids but the vet said at the time that we were just borrowing time and eventually there was a good chance he'd get diabetes. Well, a few years went past and.....you guessed it...Fabio (we called him Bo) got diabetes.
Fabio was so important to me because I knew how much my late husband loved him. When my husband died Fabio would go out to my husband's white truck and sit on top of it. Visitors would come over and comment about the cat on the truck. (He was allowed to be outside a few hours a day because (like many of my cats, he came to me (showed up) as an adult and loved the outdoors).
Well, he lived on the steroids for maybe 3 years and stopped drinking water and eating very little. My friend (the Vet's nurse) would come to my house and we'd 'hydrate' him by putting a needle under his fur and using glucose to hydrate him. We could get enough into him to only have to do it every few days (don't remember how often), but eventually, it got to every day...Then even that didn't work.
My friend said, "Let's give him one day without hydrating him and see how he does". Well, a few hours went by and when I went to check on him (in the house, he was no longer allowed outside way before then)....he'd died.
There have been other times when I've had to decide which way to go with meds but Fabio was the one that stuck with me. You know, the 'what if's' and 'maybe I shoudln't have done this'....we've all been there.
So, now move forward to my Bill. I love that cat more than anything. I don't know if he saves me or I save him! He's so loving and wonderful.
But he will not drink water for anything. I've had 2 emergencies with him where I almost lost him (he got bad kidney infections).
So, he's been on prescription cat food. But here again, it's soft. But I'm so paranoid about his intake of water I actually take an eye-dropper and put water in with the wet canned cat food. Sometimes it's very mushy but I know he's getting fluid too.
But...Yes there's more...Now he's going to have to have his huge eye tooth pulled because (due to the soft mushy food) it's decayed).
I've had my other cat Katie's teeth pulled about 6 months ago. So, I know he'll be fine.
But my point (I know, finally...my point). is it's hard to know what to do when it comes to our furbabies.
So, I gave him the soft/gushy prescription cat food and that caused him to have bad teeth....(see what I mean).
I hope the OP doesn't beat herself up too much. I guess what I'm trying (and not very well) is to say we all do the best we can.
Our furbabies know we love them.
@Dazlin Just know that we are all praying for you and your furbaby. Know too, that your 'baby' knows you love her...and that's important.
Take care and thanks for keeping us updated.

@Dazlin Today at lunch my friend told me her miniature Australian Shepherd that’s 13 has congestive heart trouble. She’s taking her back to vet this week. It’s been so hot she has to keep her in air conditioning and this is a barn, farm dog. Rest will be hard for her!
When my Jack Russell had spinal problems I carried him everywhere and down steps. With rest he got much better and at the last vet specialist appointment I asked if he could do steps and go in his fenced yard. He answered: “He has to be a dog.”
I hope your vet can find a medicine that lets your sweet pup be a dog.

Your little girl might need mom more than a vet now...whatever you decide to do, it will be with love. Much love to you and Teaspoon.
