UPDATE:

 

She returned the cat to the rescue organization.  Her DH was suffering with allergies, despite having air purifiers in the house.

@lolakimono  Thank the gods and all the angels for that.  May that little cat find a family who is looking for a kitty to love, not a science experiment.  Hope her Hubby puts his foot down when she wants to try it again.

Thank goodness the poor kitten is out of that situation. And, hopefully, no other will place another kitten with this family.

I'd give the 3 year child back. She is a sociopath in the making.
