Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Hi Dear Friends, Firstly Sammy i pray Frankie is doing as well as possible.  Sorry I have been away without an update My Friends, life has been up and down as we all understand.  And to top it off, my neighborhood was hit by one of the tornadoes in the Dallas area Sunday night. We made it though with just trees and fences blown over and a couple of broken windows, we made it so much better that so many others.  Dallas and surrounding suburbs have so much devistation, it is heartbreaking, but by the Glory of God, not deaths occurred.  Mom lives less than 10 minutes from my home, and her neighborhood was untouched, Thank God.

An update on Mom, Her cancer is still about the same.  Her blood counts though not good, are somewhat stable for her. The liver failure is another story.  Her liver is failing because of years of chemo, it takes a toll on all your organs.  She cant retain her nutrients causing her nutrion to be very problematic.  We just cant keep her weight from dropping.  We have had two additional hospital stays due to infection that gets in the lining of her stomach.  Friends, I could write a book on all that she goes through daily, but let me just say she continues to fight each day with a positive spirit and  God's will, she is still with us.  She is a testimate to the power of prayer and amazing Doctors and Specialist.  Much love to each of you for all your care, prayer and concern. Hugs Dear Friends and have the best day possible.

Re: That Schmoo, he is one tough kitty fighter -- 2.0

Tuesday report:  An overdue greeting to all in the Schmoo Family!

We have been trying to keep the ship that is the "U.S.S. Frankie" on an even keel.  This triaditis--inflammation that bounces from pancreas to liver to small intestine--is hard to manage.  We're just starting to learn to handle this up-and-down existence, but then, we had the Master--Schmoo--who taught us how to do it right.

Backstory on Frankie's trip to the emergency vet last Tuesday night.  Around bedtime and after having a stellar day, she started to vomit.  A lot.  Then she was so weak she couldn't walk but a few steps--wobbly at that--before laying down.  Finally she lay down on her side and looked like she was breathing her last.

It's hard to know if something like this is a blood sugar problem (she's diabetic now) or a triaditis problem.  We called the vet ER and they advised we bring her in, because treatment is different for each.

We figured it was the triaditis because she did not fight DH putting her into her carrier.  It was a one-hour ride each way and she was a champion.  And it was the triaditis--this time, hitting her liver.

So she's been fairly stable since. We've had to adjust her meds, give her fluids and read the Frankie tea leaves better.  She's been OK except Sunday morning, she refused to eat.  A little infusion of the Frankie feel-good regimen plus an appetite stimulant got her back on track.

We're sorry for not posting and checking in on everyone.  Rest assured that I passed on all of your hugs, smooches and prayers to her directly--and I always use your forum nic while doing so. She knows who you are!

Of course she does--she's a high-tech kitty with a mastery of all media, as is obvious in the photo below, where she's well enough to give the squirrels on YouTube the what for:

Dear @Shop Till you Drop

I'm sorry I haven't posted with you before, but your post today really touched my heart.

It's very good news that you made it thru the nasty tornado ok.  It's not easy to see your surrounding neighborhoods get so much damage.  It really pulls on your heartstrings.  It these awful situations, all we can do is pray a lot & pitch in to help one another.

I'm sending you & all of the Dallas & sourrounding areas that are suffering many prayers & Blessings.  Stay strong for one another.

Kudos to your Mom for staying upbeat as best she can.  I'm sure she's very glad you're there for her & feels your love.  Please wish her my best & let her know I'll pray for her (& you).

Please take care & hugs to you.

Sweetest Frankie,

I'm glad to see you holding your own - thanks to you continuing to put up the good fight & of course, to your Mom & Dad for being so attentive to your needs & pouring all their love on you.

You've been thru another tough round lately.  Please try to keep eating, stay calm & rest when needed.  Maybe even talk with your Mom & Dad - you know, a little meow or two ...

You have touched my heart in a big way Little Girl.  Prayers & Blessings are continuing to be sent to you each & every day.

Thank you @Sammycat1 & DH.

Saturday report:  Well,  it's official. We have a new Michaels art and craft store open in our town, and DH has declared that we're making a run at it today.  He's a web programmer and an artist--so a man of equal parts art and science.

@Shop Till you Dropour prayers are with you and your mother.  She is one tough lady!

Frankie is doing pretty well.  Her sprained elbow improves bit by bit; we're able to gradually decrease her pain medication.  Only one vomit, too, thank goodness. She doesn't have another check up for a few weeks.

In the meantime, we know she's slowly bouncing back because she's returning to some old behaviors, as captured in the photo below.  She hasn't really slept on the recliner chair with Daddy for months--until last night.

She knows her own healing timeline.  That--and she got a little sick of binge watching Downton Abbey episodes with me.  Daddy watches rockets.  That's her cup of tea:

Thursday report:  I hope everyone--furry and human--in the Schmoo Family is OK. Frankie's checking in with a new photo op, below.

I snapped this one late one night this week when she got so comfy on her memory foam wedge with her Yeoowww Catnip banana as a pillow that the snoring commenced--immediately:

Hi Dear Friends, Happy Halloween to each of you.  We are going to have a windy and cold trick or treat night for Dallas.  I am anxious to see how the extreme weather change effects our little ones.  Either way Joey, Mom and I will be together to see the little spooks.

Hope everyone is doing as well as possible..Hugs

Sammycat, I am so glad to hear that Frankie is slowly recovering and enjoying her time with her Dad, watching rockets!  The picture of her sleeping on her personal bed with her banana pillow is adorable!  Thank you for sharing them with us!
