I saw that on a cat website and it's still funny! Late DH and I always talked to our cats and could tell by their facial expressions (yes cats do have them!) and their actions that they definitely "got it"!

I have a cat who talks. He uses different tones and volume depending on the subject. He also taps my arm or hand and nips me on the leg if he's trying to make a point.

My DH’s brother had a Siamese cat that “talked” a lot. According to my DH the cat liked to sit and meow talk to people in the kitchen.

Funny related story:

The cat was especially vocal after returning from living with the brother and his new wife for several months in another state. When the couple returned everyone was helping them unpack in their apartment. The cat went around to each family member meowing. Joke was he was telling the rest of the family about everything that happened to him when he was living in another place.
