I've seen it suggested that toys need to be rotated, as cats do get bored with the same old, same old.   Pull out a few that they haven't seen in ages.  

 

Actually, I used to dust Bogey's stuffed toys with a little catnip.  Got his attention right away.

My niece's two cats love getting gifts from their grandmother and aunt!!!!!  They always love what they receive and since they are spoiled, ha ha, they always have a supply of toys to amuse them!!!!   The male loves to play with pipe cleaners and never tires of them!!!!
