This month is Adopt-A-Senior-Pet Month. 

 

I remember my parents "took in" a Chihuahua that just showed up at their doorstep (they live in the country with no close neighbors.  Never found the owner).  We never knew the dog's age, but he looked just like this, not the cutest, and all he did was quiver, always nervous.  They named him "Tiny" and he had a good life even riding on their snowmobile occasionally.
