Re: THE PET CHAT CORNER FEB.15 - FEB. 21

I just got home, and I wanted to give you an update on Schmoosy (the cat at the PetSmart store that had her jaw broken when she was a kitten, and spent most of her 6 years in cages).  I stopped at PetSmart today to see what cats they had in cages (from animal rescue).  I didn't see Schmoosy, so I asked someone at the store about her.  She said Schmoosy was adopted by one of the PetSmart cashiers.  I was so relieved to hear this, and I just wanted to share with you.

Went to PetSmart yesterday to get a fresh pkg of cat grass seed.............the cashier (a young man) said, "You look just like my mom, so I'm gonna look and see if I can find a coupon for you".     That's customer service!!!!!

Hi everyone.  Snow melting...36 today. Hope your snow is melting, too.

Panda,so sad when children are sick. Will keep your little friends in thoughts.  Hope you're well.

Hoosier, your post about the dog forgotten outside is sickening.  People forget their children, too. People...grr. I bet you never forget your Greyhound inthe snow!

Angie is missing her walks but she'll have to be happy with just the backyard.  Too icy to walk.

Hi to Doxie,Beastie,Lynn,Apple,Barb and everyone else. Have a great rest of your week from Angie Daisy and me.

@Lyn08

Thanks for taking the time to come over to the Schmoo thread and let me know this fantastic news!  I've been a little pressed for time due to working all weekend and trying to meet another deadline early this week, so I had not yet dropped by the Pet Chat Corner.

I had a heavy heart about this poor little girl and I'm so relieved to hear that she's been adopted.  This always restores my faith that although there are evil people who animals harm, there are many more angels who love and protect them.

Re: THE PET CHAT CORNER FEB.15 - FEB. 21

Good morning to all and there fur babies.  Hi, it is me Libby and I am home from school this week I think they call this winter break or something like that. This afternoon mom and I are getting are hair cut. Mom is getting a trim and a color put in I think light blond but, I am not sure.  I am getting a hair cut. Sort of like Taylor Swift had at the Grammy awards with bangs I think it is called a page boy. My hair is long to my shoulders so I am nervous but happy about it to. I am going to leave you now because I want to visit Sammy's thread. Take care everyone. Love Libby

Re: THE PET CHAT CORNER FEB.15 - FEB. 21

Have you ever bathed your cat?  If so, what did you use and did your cat tolerate it pretty well?  Since I may be getting a Persian/Himmie mix, I've read on-line that they should be bathed once a month and groomed at least once a week.  (She doesn't have overly long hair, like some Persians.)

I don't think I'd be able to do this myself.  I did check, and there is a pet grooming salon just down the street from where I live, and they do bathe and groom cats and cut their nails.  I may just take her there for a grooming and nail cutting, and see how that works for her (not right away, though -- and only if she gets matted).

Re: THE PET CHAT CORNER FEB.15 - FEB. 21

Another question:  What do you do when you need to vacuum your floors and furniture? Do you need to put your pet in another room? Would I confine my cat to my small bedroom (den) while I vacuum the rest of my apartment, then put her in my bedroom and close the door while I vacuum the den?  I'd think the sound of a vacuum would be scary for a pet.

I did see a show awhile back on Animal Planet where the family had a Roomba vacuum, and one of the cats was riding the Roomba.  It was so funny!

Happy Monday, dear PCC friends and furbabies!

I pray for warmth and saftey for anyone in the path of winter weather. Our "wintry mix' never materialized, which is good.  My school system is out this week for our "winter break."  I am glad for the rest.  Woke up with a very bad headache, right above the back of my neck.  Feel it might be sinus/allergy related but not sure.

I want to ask for prayers for one of my fellow teachers.  Her 4 year old son just got out of the hospital after being diagnosed with Kawasaki's Syndrome.  He went in last week with a high fever and dehydration.  They have treated him and he is doing better and going home. They hope he doesn't have lasting side effects of this disease.  I don't know much about it.  It's "touch and go" here for a while but she and he husband have a very supportive and close family to rally around them.

Next prayer request is or a former student of mine.  He is 12 now and is currently in a medically indused coma to help his lungs.  He is at the same children's hospital that my co worker's son was out.  Prayers for that medical staff, as well.

I am so grateful to have all of you as friends!  May God bless the PCC ladies, furbabies and families represented here!

Much...love, hugs and prayers!

Of all of the many kitties that I've had bless my life (including the five that I have now) with their presence,I've never had to bathe any one of them as there was never a need to do so.

I do suggest that you check out the pet grooming salon and find any reviews that you can of their staff and their services before you take your girl there.

Have you decided on a name for her yet?
