My cat is just the opposite, she completely ignores boxes and bags, even catnip scented ones. Since we adopted her at age 8, to try to figure her out is a constant puzzle. She walked through a tube type tunnel ONCE. Treat balls and noise toys are ignored.

@NYwoman, From my limited experience, what you are seeing in your kitty is normal for his age. When we adopted our current kitty, Winston had every toy we could think of. Now that he is six years plus, no interest anymore, and we have given toys away. He still loves catnip mice (we buy them in colors so we don't faint, as he has many and has them everywhere in the house). And we carefully play with him with a laser pointer, until he tires of it. One of my DD's cats was so crazy about one hand-me-down that they bought a second one in case something happened to the first, Go figure! But he still loves boxes, although not as much.
