@Drythe, I am so sorry about Spike. He knew that he was loved; and in the end, that is what is important. As he crosses the Bridge, he will be met with our Darcy and many others. He is now free from pain, but he will always be with you. RIP Spike.

Oh, @Drythe
Such a beautiful relationship between you two, told beautifully.
He had such a down-to-earth name for one who looks almost ethereal. It seems to me he was a cat for all seasons.
We give them love at many times, and one of the most precious is at the end when they trust us to let them go.

@Drythe Drythe, I am SO very sorry for you and your Family at your loss of Spike. What courage he had and what a Truely special relationship you both had. He sounds like an independant fellow and being dependant with no recovery in sight was not what he wanted. You tried. You Both tried. but in the end you understood him yet again and Gave him the help he asked for. May he rest in peace where there are the most delicious scents in the air. My heart goes out to you. Hugs, candy.

My heart goes out to you and your DH
on the sad loss of your beloved boy.
I believe that Divine Intervention
brought Spike into your lives and
once he was with you it was like
Heaven on Earth for all of you.
Please find comfort and solace in
the fact that Spike always knew
how very much he was cherished
and loved,that he was surrounded
with that same love when you sent
him to The Bridge with dignity and
in peace, and that he is now running
like a kitten with all of his new friends
thru the sunlit meadows of that most
blessed place.
Although you can no longer see him
or hold him,Spike's loving spirit
is surrounding you 24/7 and will be
with you until you meet again and
are reunited forever.
I'm going to light a special memorial
candle for your precious boy on the pet
loss dot com site.

Spike was tired and achieved all he had set out to do in this life and God was calling him back home. Though painful for you now, you unselfishly left him to to Heaven, where he's feeling fine and enjoying his new life while also watching of you, his beloved mommy.

@Drythewhat a precious boy. You were chosen to be there for him, Your story is truly the meaning of "rescue".
I am so sorry his time with you could not have been longer.
You will both see him again. I know that he would want the sunshine where he is now to spill over to you to light the dark spaces.
