@Puppy Lips  Your point about posting vs not posting- I probably wouldn't have, if I hadn't already been posting about Lola's medical problems and decline. I feel like the nice ladies here deserved an update. Also, even though some responses make me kind of weepy (that poem!), it comforts me to know that everyone has experienced pet loss.

ladies the poems that were shared here are exquisite. I hadn't seen them before. Thank you.
we are going to bury her ashes in the back yard under the crepe Myrtle tree. With a memorial stone to mark the spot. I'm already looking at different websites for those. If there's one you've used and were happy with, please let me know.

@fairydogmother   I knew this moment was coming, but that certainly doesn't make it any easier.  My condolences to you and your husband.  I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that you provided a good life for Lola and that she is now at peace.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Knowing the end is near doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye.

May your sorrow be replaced with fond memories of your sweet baby in time.
