Our Pekinese cries and struggles when touched.  It is hard to read him, as he is deaf and isn't like other dogs.

The groomer said she had a more difficult time with him this week.  He has never been easy to handle!

So the vet said to try Rimadyl and see if it is pain.  I know it helped one of my brother's dogs with severe arthritis.  I could tell she got up more easily.

We just started giving it to him.  Has anyone had success with this?

@hyacinth003...I had great success with Rimadyl with my little Pekingese. Almost overnight he turned into a puppy again. From that moment on I never let him go without it. Bless his sweet ❤️. He's been gone for 14 years now and not a day goes by that I don't think of that lil' feller. ❤️🐶

Our Gordon Setter has Spondylosis and Rimadyl has been extremely helpful with pain management.  It is obvious that it is helping because his walk isn't as stiff.  Thie key is to give the pill(s) at the same time every day so the medication levels stay even. Hope it helps your pooch..

You may want to reserach Tumeric Golden Paste.  It is a miracle worker.  It is a combination of turmeric, coconut oil and black pepper.

This is a facebook group called Turmeric Users Group it has about 200k users.  Join there as they have a very good receipe.

I give it to all my dog's.

I was never sure if it really worked.  Recently I got a foster that was a stray down south that had lots and lots of lumps.  He was examined by 2 vets that said they were skin tags but they did not look ok to me.  I started giving him the golden paste and they turned black and eithe disappeared or fell off.  I am a believer now.

I have used Rimadyl with several dogs.  The last one was my Japanese Chin, and it helped tremendously.  I think your Vet needs to take x-rays though, to see if it's arthritis or something else going on.

I tried it on my old dog years ago - he started pooping black tar color - vet said it was blood and to get him off of it immediately.  While he was on it, he was like a pup again - but hard on their livers I think.

Yes, I forgot to say that while on Rimadyl, your dog needs to have blood work every six months to check his liver values.

Why not try Cosequin for dogs?  It is an over the counter, non-prescription formula for arthritis and joint pain and it works. Comes in capsules that you pull apart and sprinkle onto the food, once a day. Works on dry food or canned. Or you could administer in whole pill form in a piece of cheese, etc , but the powder sprinkled from the capsule is so easy.

Your sweet dog will perk up noticeably in about 2-3 weeks with one daily dose. Less pain, more agility.  No side effects, no medical monitoring. Resaonable cost. I get it at Amazon, but I'm sure pet supply places stock it.

Cosequin. Ask the vet about it as an alternative to try. That's how I got to know it-- vet recommended. Hope your Peke does better soon

We had a German Shepherd/Husky "big" dog that had hip problems in his later years. When Ecotrin was no longer working fo rhim our vet gave us this. It worked. He was a great dog and lived to be 15. I hope it works for your dog just as well as it did for ours.
