I dropped the kittens off to get spayed and neutered today. I was actually fine, until they had me sign the medical release. They pigged out on their before bed snack so they weren't even upset about not getting breakfast. I'm glad it's warming up some today before I have to pick them up it was in the 20s when I dropped them off.

It's always stressful when our pets have to have a procedure done - it will go well. You're a good pet owner getting them spayed and neutered.

I totally can relate. I remember how stresses I was when I dropped of our boy and girl years ago. I just sat glued to the phone waiting for them to call. There was some tense moments there, but it all worked out just fine. :-)

I always get stressed when my pets have to go under anesthesia, too. I'm sure all will go well for your kittens though.

It is always scary but they will be fine. They are young and healthy and will bounce right back.
These days, because my pets are all older, they only go under anesthesia if it is a real emergency and then I cannot even leave the vet hospital until they are awake. As soon as they are even remotely awake, they let me go back and sit with them until they completley recover and are ready to go home. Makes my stomach churn when they have to go under now that they are older.

Thanks everyone. I'm trying to distract myself, maybe there is a movie on tv? They said I could pick them up after 3 but they would call with an update when it''s over.

I can relate. It was late October two years ago that I trapped 8 ferral cats and took them in for spay and neuter. I was very worried about turning them loose in the cold weather within 24 hours our their surgery, but the vet said they would be better off than keeping them in the traps and stressing them out. They all survived just fine and sit in my kitchen window sill and stare me down.

I actually brought my adult coloring books while waiting.

They just called from the vet and it went fine. I can pick them up in a few hours.

Glad the babies are okay!
I selected my Bogey from a shelter at 3 months, and felt he was the healthiest kitten there. He seemed so happy and active.
When filling out the paperwork, I learned that he had been neutered that morning! In his procedure, they administered a micro dose of morphine! There didn't seem to be any "recuperation" period at all.
I bet you are SO relieved.
