Last night I saw on the news a little girl, a Ukrainiane refugee, crying because she missed her dog and cat. That just about gutted me because I'd feel the same way if I had to abandon my pets.
Does anyone know of any organization that is rescuring abandaned pets? My birthday is coming up and all I would like is donations. Last night my husband reminded me the world can be cruel, which is true. But at least we have our beloved cats buried in our back yard, not wandering around, hungry, thirsty, and wondering why their families abandonded them.
Anyway, any information will greatly appreciated.

I've seen literally hundreds of refugees fleeing Ukraine who have their pets with them. I worry more about the livestock they were forced to leave behind, especially since horses, sheep, hogs, and cattle are giving birth now.

Casa lui Patrocle: Volunteers for the Romanian nonprofit are at the border to make sure that families entering the country don’t have to leave their pets behind, the Dodo.com reported. Volunteers are helping to find housing, shelter and veterinary assistance for animals in need of help — regardless of species. You can donate at https://casaluipatrocle.ro/donatie-casa-lui-patrocle.
PETA’s Global Compassion Fund: PETA has sent teams to the Polish border to provide on-site assistance, including shepherding animals to safety. South Florida-based Big Dog Ranch Rescue has hired a full-time veterinarian to care for them, stocked the Polish shelter with scales, medicine and everything else the dogs need to survive and received a food donation from Royal Canin. Next, she will head to Romania to help another shelter that has received an influx of pets as Ukrainians fight for their lives.
