Re: EVER CONSULT WITH A PET PSYCHIC?

All this to say: sometimes things are just hard to find. And it's just not fair, not right, for these furry loved ones who transform our lives forever, for the better.

@Sammycat1

I took him to the vet's for cremation and spoke with a few that had similar situations.

One woman said her dog died in December.  The dog wasn't really right so she took him in for a look-see.  Five weeks later he was dead from an aggressive form of cancer!

Cats & dogs instinctively hide pain and not feeling well.  So even if we spend a lot of time with them, we don't always notice something wrong.

She was told that by the time we start to see symptoms, the disease has spread and it's usually past the time when they might be able to recover.

It's the cost of having so much love in your life .... but I'm still stuck on how could such a well cared for cat have only 8 years?    This one really took me by surprise.

Well, he was mature or middle aged, the equivalent of  a 48-year-old man. It's the heartbreaking, head-scratching part of this, but people and animals can get cancer or other diseases at early ages no matter how well we care for them--and you cared for him extremely well.

If all it took were love and great care, they'd live well into their 20s and beyond. But it's just not so, on the average.

You did everything you could and more. Heart

Re: RIP BOGEY --- EVER CONSULT WITH A PET PSYCHIC?

@Tinkrbl44 - I am so sorry that you've lost your beloved Bogey.

For any of us who have precious furbabies, no time is long enough.

I had a cat who seemed fine one minute, eating her dinner.  And not a half-hour later had what appeared to be a seizure (heart attack maybe?) and was gone before we could get her to the animal hospital.  She was only 8.

And a beautiful golden retriever that we also lost at 8 - suspected cancer, but we didn't have an autopsy done.

It's never easy to lose someone you love.  Just know we're all sending you prayers and healing thoughts and keep your wonderful memories close to your heart.  You did everything you possibly could.  Heart

@Tinkrbl44  My heart is so sad for you, he was a beautiful fella and I know it was as hard for him to leave you as it was for you to lose him. Bless your broken heart. This drawing was done by a friend of ours to comemorate our pet losses.angel

@on the bay

Thanks to you ...  and everyone ... for your kind words.  Heart

The funny thing is that he was SO well cared for ... in his entire life, he'd never had so much as a flea!   My little guy was an Indoor Cat and nothing would ever harm him!

People talk about how a cat's life is diminished if it is allowed to go outdoors regularly, and Bogey didn't, but he had lots windows and screens to see the birds and squirrels  ... so I thought he'd definitely be around for 15 to 20 years.

Actually, now and then I'd have the concern as to who would take care of him if I died!  Never, ever occurred to me he'd go first!

I've done a lot of reading of comments people have made about their cats passing.  Some people do screw up in some way.  Let them go outside and they get hit by a car or coyotes got them.  Talk about the guilt that must be!  It's never easy, but things can happen in the blink of an eye that can never be un-done.   Well, I did everything I could ... or could think to do.

I thought my little Bogey was sick ... and he was really dying!  It really took me by surprise!

RIP BOGEY  Heart
